3. Installation Steps
The FX8 Pro is designed for easy installation on various helmet types, including half-face, full-face, and modular helmets.


3.1. Mounting the Intercom Unit
You can choose between a clamp mount or an adhesive mount.
3.1.1. Clamp Mount Installation
- Attach the rubber pad to the clamp.
- Slide the clamp between the helmet shell and the inner padding.
- Secure the intercom unit to the clamp.
3.1.2. 3M Glue Velcro Mount Installation
- Clean the surface of the helmet where you intend to mount the unit.
- Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive Velcro.
- Firmly press the Velcro onto the helmet surface.
- Attach the intercom unit to the Velcro.
3.2. Speaker Installation
- Attach the Velcro pads to the back of the speakers.
- Place the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets, ensuring they are aligned with your ears for optimal sound.
- Connect the speaker cable to the intercom unit's earphone port.
3.3. Microphone Installation
Choose between the hard tube microphone (for open-face/modular helmets) or the button microphone (for full-face helmets).
3.3.1. Hard Tube Microphone Installation
- Attach the microphone Velcro to the inside of the helmet near your mouth.
- Secure the hard tube microphone to the Velcro.
- Connect the microphone cable to the intercom unit.
3.3.2. Button Microphone Installation
- Attach the microphone Velcro to the inside of the helmet near your mouth.
- Secure the button microphone to the Velcro.
- Connect the microphone cable to the intercom unit.
4. Initial Setup and Pairing
4.1. Power ON/OFF
- Power ON: Press and hold the Intercom Button and Function Button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- Power OFF: Press and hold the Intercom Button and Function Button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
4.2. App Connection (V2.1 and above)
The FX8 Pro (V2.1 and above) supports connection to the Fodsports Connect APP for enhanced control and settings management.

- Download the Fodsports Connect APP from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) by scanning the QR codes in the manual.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Enter Pairing Mode on your FX8 Pro (see section 4.3).
- In the APP, select "Connect Device" and choose "FODSPORTS FX8 PRO" to pair.
4.3. Entering Pairing Mode
To pair with other devices (phones, GPS, other intercoms):
- With the device OFF, press and hold the Function Button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes red and blue slowly. The device is now in pairing mode.
- Once your phone is connected, repeat this step to connect another phone or GPS.
4.4. Quick Pairing (One-Click Pairing)
The FX8 Pro features a quick pairing function for convenient group communication.

To quickly pair multiple FX8 Pro units:
- Ensure all units are powered off.
- On all units, press and hold the Intercom Button for 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash simultaneously. This indicates they are in pairing state.
- Short press one of the intercom buttons on any unit. All units will automatically pair with each other.
4.5. Universal Pairing
The FX8 Pro can connect with other brands of helmet intercoms, smartphones, and GPS navigators.

To pair with other Bluetooth headsets:
- Enter Search Mode on the FX8 Pro by long pressing the Intercom Button for 3 seconds.
- On the other Bluetooth headset, follow its instructions to enter pairing mode.
- Once the FX8 Pro finds the other headset, click the Intercom Button once to connect.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Volume Control
The FX8 Pro features an oversized rotary button for easy volume adjustment.
- Volume Up: Rotate the jog dial forward (clockwise) once.
- Volume Down: Rotate the jog dial backward (counter-clockwise) once.
5.2. Voice Command
Support voice commands to control various phone functions.

To activate voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant):
- Click the Mode Button once.
5.3. Music Playback
- Play/Pause Music: Click the Function Button once.
- Previous Track: Click the Previous Button once.
- Next Track: Click the Next Button once.
5.4. Three Sound Effects
The FX8 Pro offers three distinct sound effects for an enhanced audio experience.

To switch between sound effects (HiFi Bass, Popular Golden Classic, Pure Human Voice):
- Click the Mode Button once.
5.5. Ambient Mode
The ambient mode allows you to hear your surroundings even with your helmet on, improving safety.

To activate/deactivate Ambient Sound Mode:
- Click the Mode Button twice.
5.6. Audio Multitasking
The FX8 Pro supports audio multitasking, enabling you to listen to music or GPS navigation while maintaining intercom communication.
When music/FM and intercom are active simultaneously, rotate the Function Button to adjust the music/FM volume. If you need to adjust intercom volume, pause music/FM first, then rotate the Function Button.
5.7. Phone Calls
The FX8 Pro automatically answers calls within 12 seconds.

- Answer/End Call: Click the Function Button once.
- Reject Call: Long press the Function Button for 3 seconds.
- Redial Last Number: Click the Function Button twice.
- Switch Manual/Automatic Answering: Press and hold the Previous Button, Next Button, and Intercom Button simultaneously for 5 seconds.
5.8. FM Radio
The FX8 Pro includes an FM radio with a frequency range of 76-108MHz.

- FM Radio ON/OFF: Long press the Next Button for 3 seconds.
- Previous Channel: Click the Previous Button once.
- Next Channel: Click the Next Button once.
5.9. 2-Rider Intercom
To establish a 2-rider intercom connection:
- Ensure both units (A and B) are powered off.
- On both units, long press the Intercom Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode (LED flashes red and blue slowly).
- On unit A, click the Intercom Button once to search for unit B.
- Once paired, both units will indicate "Intercom" status.
- End Intercom: Click the Intercom Button once.
5.10. Music Sharing
Share music between two FX8 Pro units within 10 meters.

To share music:
- Ensure both FX8 Pro units are connected via intercom.
- Pair one unit with your mobile phone (see section 4.3).
- Long press the Mode Button for 3 seconds to start music sharing.
- Long press the Mode Button for 3 seconds again to stop music sharing.
5.11. Group Intercom (Up to 8 Riders)
The FX8 Pro supports group intercom for up to 8 riders with a maximum distance of 1000 meters.

For optimal intercom quality and stability, it is recommended to use 2-6 people for group intercom.
5.11.1. Pairing Multiple Units (A, B, C, D...)
- A and B Pairing: Follow 2-Rider Intercom pairing (Section 5.9).
- B and C Pairing: On unit B, long press the Intercom Button for 3 seconds to enter search mode. On unit C, long press the Intercom Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. Once unit B finds unit C, click unit B's Intercom Button once to connect.
- C and D Pairing: Repeat the process, with unit C searching for unit D.
- Continue this sequence for all desired units.
5.11.2. Starting Group Intercom
Once all units are paired, they will automatically connect for group intercom. If not, short press the Intercom Button on any unit to initiate.
5.11.3. Exiting Group Intercom
To temporarily exit the intercom state, click the Intercom Button once on your unit. To rejoin, click the Intercom Button once again.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Charging
The FX8 Pro is equipped with a 900 mAh ultra-capacity lithium battery, providing up to 15 hours of music time, 12 hours of intercom time, and 300 hours of standby time with only 3 hours of charging.

- Use a standard 5V=1A/2A charger and the USB Type-C cable included in the package.
- During charging, the LED indicator will show a red light.
- Once fully charged, the LED indicator will turn blue.
- If the device cannot be turned on, the battery might be completely exhausted. Charge it for at least 1 hour before attempting to power on.
- The device supports working while charging (e.g., Bluetooth intercom, music, calls, FM radio).
6.2. Battery Detection
You can check the battery level of your FX8 Pro:
- On Mobile Phone: After successful connection to a mobile phone, the battery percentage can be displayed on the phone screen.
- On Device: Short press the Previous Button and the Next Button simultaneously to broadcast the current battery level via voice prompt.
Voice prompts for battery level:
- >90%: "Power over 90%"
- >50%: "Power over 50%"
- <50%: "Power lower 50%"
- <10%: "Power lower than 10%, will be turning off. Please recharge immediately."
6.3. Reset Bluetooth Pairing Record
To clear all Bluetooth pairing records:
- Press and hold the Previous Button and Function Button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
6.4. Restore Factory Settings
To restore the device to its factory default settings:
- Press and hold the Previous Button, Next Button, and Function Button simultaneously for 5 seconds.
6.5. Waterproof Rating

The FX8 Pro has an IP65 waterproof rating, making it resistant to rain and sandstorms. However, avoid submerging the device in water.
6.6. General Care
- Do not throw the product into fire or discard it randomly.
