3. Setup Guide

3.1 Pre-installation Checklist

Before proceeding with installation, ensure the following:

• The WiFi Switch must operate within a 2.4GHz WiFi environment.
• You have the correct WiFi password for your network.
• Your smartphone or tablet has access to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
• Your router is configured to allow MAC addresses (MAC-open).
• Your smartphone or tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network with internet access.
• Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for initial setup.

3.2 Wiring Instructions

WARNING: Ensure the power supply is completely disconnected before performing any wiring to prevent electric shock.

1. Identify the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your AC 85-250V power supply.
2. Connect the Live (L) wire to the 'L' terminal under 'IN' on the Smart Switch.
3. Connect the Neutral (N) wire to the 'N' terminal under 'IN' on the Smart Switch.
4. Identify the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires of the appliance you wish to control.
5. Connect the appliance's Live (L) wire to the 'L' terminal under 'OUT' on the Smart Switch.
6. Connect the appliance's Neutral (N) wire to the 'N' terminal under 'OUT' on the Smart Switch.
7. Plug the cht8305 temperature and humidity sensor into the designated port on the Smart Switch.

3.3 App Installation and Device Pairing

1. Download the App: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your mobile device's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store) and install it.
2. Register/Login: Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
3. Reset Device: Power on the Smart Switch. Hold down the 'Reset' button for approximately 6 seconds until the network indicator (red light) starts blinking fast (0.5 seconds/time). This puts the device into pairing mode.
4. Add Device in App: In the app, click the "+" icon in the top right corner. The app will search for nearby devices. Once the Smart Switch is found, click "Add".
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the correct password.
6. Name Device: Once connected, you can name your device for easy identification.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 App Remote Control

Once the device is successfully paired, you can control and monitor it using the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app:

• Real-time Data: View current temperature and humidity readings from the cht8305 sensor.
• Switch Control: Manually turn the connected appliance ON or OFF.
• Autowork Mode: Enable 'Autowork' to automatically control the appliance based on preset temperature or humidity ranges.
• Heating Mode: Set a target temperature. The switch will turn on the heating appliance when the current temperature falls below the target.
• Cooling Mode: Set a target temperature. The switch will turn on the cooling appliance when the current temperature rises above the target.
• Statistics: Access historical data for temperature, humidity, and energy consumption (daily, monthly, yearly).
• Scheduling: Set up countdowns, single-time, or recurring schedules to automate appliance operation.
• Device Sharing: Share control of the switch with other users through the app.

4.2 Voice Control

The Smart Switch is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Google Nest. Link your Tuya Smart / Smart Life account to your voice assistant app to enable voice commands.

• App not finding device during pairing:
  • Make sure the device is in fast blinking mode (red light).
  • Ensure your phone is close to the device and connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
• Voice control not working:
  • Ensure your Tuya Smart / Smart Life account is correctly linked to your voice assistant (Alexa, Google Home).
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Verify the device name in the voice assistant app matches the name in the Tuya app.
• Temperature/Humidity readings are inaccurate:
  • Ensure the cht8305 sensor is properly connected and not obstructed.
  • Avoid placing the sensor in direct sunlight or near heat/cold sources that could affect readings.

6.2 Remote Control Matching (for models with RF Remoter)

If your model includes an RF Remoter, follow these steps for matching:

1. Hold the manual switch on the Smart Switch for 3 seconds. The RF pairing indicator (blue light) will turn on.
2. Long press the buttons on the remote control.
3. Matching is successful when the blue light on the Smart Switch responds.

6.3 Clear Code (for models with RF Remoter)

To clear the remote control code:

1. Long press the manual switch on the Smart Switch for 15 seconds.
2. Loosen the switch when the RF pairing indicator (blue light) turns off and then flashes rapidly for 5 times.

Note: The matching/clear code method is only available with RF function switch/module reference.
