3. Product Overview

The BOAVISION Smart Camera features a compact design with a rotating head for wide area coverage. Key components include:

  • Lens and LEDs: Front-facing lens surrounded by infrared and white light LEDs for night vision.
  • TF Card Slot: Located under a silicon cover, used for inserting a Micro SD card for local storage.
  • USB Charging Port / Network Port: Located at the rear base of the camera for power and wired network connection.

4. Setup

4.1. Hardware Quick Start

  1. Open the TF Card Slot Silicon Cover on the back of the camera body.
  2. Insert an SD card (up to 128GB) into the right position.
  3. If using a 4G model, insert a 4G SIM card into the right position.
  4. Replace the Silicon Cover, ensuring a proper waterproof seal.
  5. Power on the camera using the provided adapter.

4.2. Software Quick Start (CamHipro App)

The camera operates with the CamHipro app, available on both Android and iOS platforms.

  1. Download the CamHipro APP from your device's App Store or Google Play Market by searching for "camhipro".
  2. Ensure your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network (for Wi-Fi setup) or a network with internet access (for 4G/LAN setup).
  3. Launch the CamHipro app and select "Add Camera +" to begin the setup process.

4.2.1. Wi-Fi Wireless Connection Setting

  1. In the app, select "IP Camera".
  2. Tap "New Device".
  3. Tap "Power is on, Next Step" then select "AP distribution network equipment".
  4. Click "Go add".
  5. Scan the QR Code located on the camera body or manually input the camera's UID.
  6. Select your Wi-Fi SSID from the list, input the correct password, and click "Apply" to finish the Wi-Fi setting.

4.2.2. 4G Wireless Connection Setting (for 4G models)

  1. After inserting the 4G SIM card as per hardware quick start, launch the CamHipro app and select "Add Camera +" then "4G Camera".
  2. Scan the QR Code on the camera body or manually input the UID.
  3. Tap "Add to" and set up the device name, then finish. The camera should connect automatically via 4G.

4.2.3. LAN/POE Connection Setting (for compatible models)

  1. Connect the camera to your Wi-Fi router using a network cable.
  2. In the app, select "Add Camera +" then "IP Camera".
  3. Tap "New Device".
  4. Tap "Power is on, Next Step" then select "Connected network cable".
  5. The app should detect the camera. Click the camera device in the list (UID:XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and click "Add to".
  6. Set up the device name and finish.

5. Operation

5.1. Pan Tilt Rotation

The camera offers a wide viewing range with remote-controlled pan and tilt functions. You can control the camera's movement directly from the CamHipro app.

The camera can be installed in multiple ways to suit your environment:

  • On the table: Place the camera on any flat surface.
  • Ceiling mounted: Use the provided screw fittings to mount the camera to the ceiling for an elevated view.

6. Alarm Management and Notification Settings

Configure your camera's alarm settings through the CamHipro app:

  1. From the app's main screen, tap the settings menu (Gear Wheel Icon).
  2. Select "Alarm Settings" > "Motion Detection alarm" > "Adjust motion detection".
  3. Enable Motion Detection: Use the toggle to activate motion detection.
  4. Define Detection Area: The app allows you to select specific areas within the camera's view that will trigger motion detection. This is useful to exclude areas with frequent, non-threatening movement (e.g., a tree swaying).
  5. Adjust Sensitivity: Use the "Level" slider to set how much motion is required to trigger an alarm.
  6. Action with Alarm: In the "Action with Alarm" menu, enable both "Receive Alarm push" and "Alarm recording to SD card".
    • "Receive Alarm push" sends notifications to your connected device.
    • "Alarm recording to SD card" ensures that footage is recorded to the SD card when motion is detected.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

  • Waterproof Seal: If you open the TF card slot, always ensure the silicon cover is properly sealed to maintain the camera's IP66 waterproof rating.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct and your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during setup.
  • No night vision: Check if the night vision mode is enabled in the app. For 8MP models, only infrared black and white night vision is available.
  • Frequent false alarms: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity level and define specific detection areas in the app to minimize triggers from non-human movements.
  • Cannot access camera remotely: Ensure the camera has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi, 4G, or LAN) and the CamHipro app is properly configured for P2P access.
