7. Care and Maintenance
- Water Resistance: The watch is water-resistant up to 3 Bar (30 meters). This means it is suitable for daily use, splash/rain resistant, but NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkeling, or water-related work. Avoid pressing buttons or pulling the crown when the watch is wet.
- Cleaning: Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the watch case and crystal. For leather straps, avoid prolonged exposure to water and harsh chemicals. For stainless steel bracelets, a soft brush and mild soap solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and seals.
- Chemicals: Keep the watch away from solvents, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetics, which can damage the case, strap, or seals.
- Magnetic Fields: Strong magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of quartz watches. Keep your watch away from strong magnets.
8. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Timekeeping: The Japan VK67A movement has an accuracy of approximately +/-20 seconds per month. If the watch is significantly outside this range, it may require servicing or a battery replacement.
- Watch Stops: If the watch stops functioning, the battery may need to be replaced. When replacing the battery, ensure the short-circuit area B(-) and battery connection(+) are handled correctly by a professional.
- Water Intrusion: If moisture appears inside the watch, have it inspected by a qualified watchmaker immediately to prevent damage to the movement.
9. User Tips
- Regular Cleaning: Wipe your watch regularly with a soft cloth to remove dirt and oils, preserving its appearance.
- Strap Care: If you have a leather strap, allow it to breathe by not wearing it too tightly. Rotate watches if you have multiple to extend the life of the strap.
- Avoid Impacts: While the watch is shock-resistant, heavy impacts should still be avoided to protect the internal movement and external components.
- Professional Servicing: For battery changes or any internal repairs, always seek a professional watchmaker to ensure the water resistance and integrity of the watch are maintained.
