5. Setup and Installation
5.1. Power Off
Before beginning any installation, ensure the main power supply to the circuit is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electric shock.
5.2. Wiring Instructions
The smart switch module requires both a Neutral (N) wire and a Live (L) wire connection. Ensure all connections are correct and secure.
The S1/S2 terminals can be connected to a traditional rocker light switch for manual control, or they can be left unconnected if only app/voice control is desired.

1. Direct connection to light (no external switch).
2. Connects light and two-way rocker switches.
3. Connects light and a single rocker switch.

This diagram illustrates how to connect the smart switch for two-way control with two parallel switches and a lamp. Note the L-out, N-out, L-in, N-in, S1, S2 terminals.
5.3. Physical Installation
The mini body design (42x42x20mm) allows the module to be placed directly inside most standard switch bottom boxes (e.g., 70x76mm, 80x80mm, 66x102mm).

The compact design allows the module to fit into various standard switch box sizes.
6. App Installation and Pairing
6.1. Download the App
Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

1. Open WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone. 2. Long press the switch button for 5 seconds. 3. In the app, tap '+' to search for the device. 4. Connect automatically.
6.2. Pairing Process
- Ensure the smart switch module is powered on.
- Initial Pairing Mode: The module will make a "DI~DI~DI~" sound (if equipped with a buzzer) or its LED will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- Manual Pairing Mode (if initial fails): If the buzzer sound is not heard or the LED doesn't flash, you can manually activate pairing mode by:
- A) Long pressing the manual button on the module for 5 seconds.
- B) Opening and closing the connected rocker switch ten times.
- C) Turning the power on and off three times.
- Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app on your smartphone.
- Tap the "+" icon in the app to add a new device. The app should automatically detect the switch module due to its WiFi+Bluetooth dual mode.
- Follow the on-screen prompts in the app to complete the pairing process. You will need to select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
This video demonstrates the pairing process with the Smart Life app, followed by app control and voice control using Alexa, and finally, two-way control with physical switches.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1. App Control
Once paired, you can control the switch directly from the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. The app allows you to turn the connected device on/off, set schedules, and configure other smart features.
7.2. Voice Control
The module is fully compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Tmall Genie. Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to your voice assistant app to enable voice commands.
- Example Commands:
"Alexa, turn on [device name]"
"Hey Google, turn off the lights"

Control your smart switch using voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
7.3. Two-Way Control
The smart switch module supports two-way control, allowing you to use both the app/voice commands and your existing physical rocker switches to control the connected light or appliance.
7.4. Timing and Countdown Functions
Utilize the app to set schedules for your devices. You can set specific times for devices to turn on or off (e.g., turn on lights at 6:30 AM, turn off at 10:00 PM) or use the countdown function for temporary operations (e.g., turn off after 5 minutes).

Set schedules for automatic operation or use the countdown timer for temporary control.
7.5. Group Control and Family Sharing
The app allows for individual control of devices or grouping multiple devices for simultaneous control. The main account holder can share control permissions with family members, enabling everyone to manage smart devices.

Share device control with family members for a collaborative smart home experience.

Manage multiple smart devices simultaneously by grouping them in the app.
7.6. Restart State Memory
Configure the switch's behavior after a power outage. You can set it to remain off, turn on, or remember its last state, ensuring your lights or appliances resume as desired.

Choose how your device behaves after a power interruption: Power Off, Power On, or Remember Last Status.
8. User Tips
- Neutral Wire: This smart switch requires a neutral wire for operation. Ensure your wiring setup includes a neutral wire before installation.
- Wi-Fi Network: The device operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your router is configured to support this frequency. While Bluetooth assists with faster pairing, a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection is essential for full smart functionality and remote control.
- Power Load: The maximum load current is 16A. For LED lighting, the maximum load is 150W. Ensure the connected appliance's power consumption does not exceed these limits. For example, a 550W water pump is well within the 16A capacity for typical household voltages (e.g., 100V-240V).
- App Compatibility: The switch is designed to work seamlessly with the Tuya Smart and Smart Life applications.
- Single Channel: This module is a single-channel switch, meaning it controls one circuit.
9. Troubleshooting
- Device Not Connecting/Pairing:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
- Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
- Make sure the device is in pairing mode (buzzer sound or flashing LED). If not, try manually activating pairing mode (long press button for 5s, or toggle connected switch 10 times, or power cycle 3 times).
- Check that your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled during the pairing process.
- Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router during pairing.
- Voice Control Not Working:
- Ensure your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is correctly linked to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
- Check the device name in the app and use that exact name in your voice commands.
- Verify your voice assistant device is connected to the internet.
- Switch Not Responding:
- Check the power supply to the module.
- Verify your Wi-Fi network is active and the module is connected.
- Restart the module by turning off and on the power at the circuit breaker.
10. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact a qualified professional for assistance.
