1. Introduction

The GIRIER Tuya Smart WiFi Thermostat is designed to provide intelligent temperature control for various heating systems, including gas boilers, electric floor heating, and water floor heating. It features an elegant LCD touch screen, app remote control, voice control compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, programmable modes, and energy-saving capabilities.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1. Wiring Diagrams

Ensure power is disconnected before attempting any wiring. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the installation process. The thermostat supports different heating systems. Please refer to the appropriate diagram for your setup.

For Gas Boiler (3A)

Important: If your actuator is a 2-wire mode and normally closed model, connect 1(close) and 3(N). If normally open model, connect 2(open) and 3(N). If your actuator is a 3-wire model, connect 1(close), 2(open) and 3(N). Please read the wiring diagram carefully before connecting. Incorrect wiring can cause a short circuit and damage your gas boiler board.

For Water Heating (3A)

2.2. Physical Installation Steps

Follow these steps to physically install the thermostat:

  1. Remove the mounting plate by rotating the LCD part counter-clockwise.
  2. Connect the power supply and load wires into the appropriate terminals as per the wiring diagram for your heating system.
  3. Fix the mounting plate into the wall using screws.
  4. Fasten the body of the thermostat onto the mounting plate by rotating it clockwise until it clicks into place.

2.3. App Pairing and Wi-Fi Connection

To connect your thermostat to the Smart Life or TuyaSmart app:

  1. Download and install the Smart Life or TuyaSmart app on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The thermostat does not support 5GHz networks.
  3. Open the app and add a new device. Select 'Thermostat' from the list of devices.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to reset the device and confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly.
  5. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password.
  6. The app will then search for and add the device. Once added, you can control the thermostat remotely.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Common Issues and Solutions

  • Thermostat not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The thermostat does not support 5GHz.
    • Check if the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough at the thermostat's location.
    • Verify that the Wi-Fi password entered in the app is correct.
    • Try resetting the thermostat and re-pairing it with the app.
  • Thermostat not responding to app/voice commands:
    • Check if the thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi icon on display should be solid).
    • Ensure your smartphone has an active internet connection.
    • For voice control, verify that the thermostat is correctly linked to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home account in the Smart Life/TuyaSmart app.
  • Incorrect temperature readings:
    • Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or other heat sources that could affect its internal sensor.
    • If an external sensor is used, check its placement and connection.
  • Heating system not turning on/off:
    • Verify the wiring connections are secure and correct for your heating system type (Gas Boiler, Electric Floor, Water Heating).
