Operating Instructions

1. Basic Recording

The K18 Dash Cam supports continuous loop recording. When the memory card is full, it will automatically overwrite the oldest video files to continue recording. Ensure a Class 10 TF card (up to 128GB) is inserted.

2. Live Broadcast Function

To use the live broadcast function, the DVR must be online with a normal 4G network connection.

  • Remotely view real-time dynamic video from your vehicle on your mobile phone via the dedicated mobile APP.
  • After approximately 1 minute of live viewing, the app may prompt you to save the video to your phone.
  • During a live broadcast, you can tap and hold to speak, and the DVR will broadcast your voice.

Note: Live broadcast performance depends on network status. Freezing or delays may occur with poor network connectivity.

3. Remote Snapshot Function

If you wish to check the real-time status of your car, use the remote snapshot function via the mobile APP. After clicking the snapshot button, the device will upload pictures and vehicle location information to your phone.

4. Viewing Video Files on Mobile Phone

There are two primary ways to view video files:

  1. Via WiFi Hotspot (Direct Connection):
    • Connect your mobile phone directly to the DVR's WiFi hotspot.
    • Open the "video cloud car APK" (mobile APP).
    • Navigate to the device information on the recorder interface to view files on the memory card.
    • You can directly play back or download video files to your mobile phone without consuming 4G data.
  2. Via 4G Network (Remote Access):
    • When connected via 4G, you cannot directly access the contents of the memory card.
    • Other functions, such as remote live video and voice calls, depend on the 4G network strength and may have a slight delay.

For important videos, long-press the video in the app and choose to download it to your mobile phone. Once downloaded, you can view it from your phone's album without needing to connect to the DVR's WiFi.

5. Historical Driving Track Query

The device supports querying historical driving tracks. You can review driving routes from previous days via the mobile APP.

6. Parking Monitoring & G-Sensor

The K18 Dash Cam features a 3-axis G-sensor that supports both collision file saving and parking monitoring. In parking mode, the G-sensor detects impacts and automatically records footage to protect your vehicle.

Connectivity

  • 4G Network: Insert a compatible 4G SIM card into the designated slot for remote monitoring, live broadcast, and other cloud features. Supports WCMDA: B1; FDD-LTE: B1, B3.
  • WiFi Hotspot: The device can act as a WiFi hotspot (802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz) for direct connection to your mobile phone, allowing local access to recorded files.
  • GPS: The internal GPS logger, augmented by an external passive antenna, provides accurate satellite positioning for track recording and location services.
  • USB 2.0: The device uses a USB 2.0 interface for connectivity.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Memory Card: Regularly format your TF card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
  • Software Updates: The device supports software updates via TF card or OTA (Over-The-Air) online upgrade. Check the mobile APP or manufacturer's website for the latest firmware.
  • Temperature: Operate and store the device within the specified temperature ranges (-20~+70℃ for operation, -30~+80℃ for storage) to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

Q: The DVR is not online or network connection is unstable.
A: Ensure a 4G SIM card is properly inserted and has an active data plan. Check the 4G signal strength in your location. Poor network conditions can cause freezing or delays in live broadcast and remote functions.
Q: Cannot access the contents of the memory card via 4G network connection.
A: This is expected behavior. Direct access to the memory card content is only available when your mobile phone is connected to the DVR's WiFi hotspot. When using 4G, you can view remote live video and download specific files after a snapshot or live stream, but not browse the entire card.
Q: Video files are not saving or are corrupted.
A: Ensure your TF card is Class 10 and not full. Regularly format the TF card. If the issue persists, try a different TF card. The G-sensor will save collision files, preventing them from being overwritten during loop recording.
Q: The device is not turning on.
A: Check the power connection to ensure it's securely plugged into a 12V power source. Verify that the vehicle's power outlet is functional. If necessary, try pressing the RESET button.

User Tips

  • For optimal performance, use a high-quality Class 10 MicroSD card with a maximum capacity of 128GB.
  • Periodically check for firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • While the app supports multiple languages, verify if an iOS version is available if you are an iPhone user, as the description primarily mentions "APK" which is typically for Android.
  • The portable dashcam assembly mode makes installation straightforward; ensure the adhesive is strong and the lens is positioned correctly for an unobstructed view.
