1. Introduction

The ZL-R200A is a universal controller designed for air-source heat pump water heaters. It offers a multi-functional design to efficiently manage your water heating system. Key features include auxiliary heating control, water flow monitoring, ventilation pump control, antifreeze protection, sensor failure action, automatic and timed defrosting, auto-restart, exhaust temperature protection, and compressor delay/pressure protections.

4. Safety Information

  • Ensure U34 is set correctly; incorrect settings may prevent the system from functioning.
  • The internal real-time clock can maintain accuracy for up to 72 hours after a power loss.
  • All sensors must be installed in their correct and designated positions.
  • Never plug or unplug the panel bundle while power is supplied to the unit.
  • The display panel should be installed indoors only, not outdoors.

5. Setup and Installation

Careful installation is crucial for the proper functioning of the ZL-R200A controller. Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections.

Installation Notes:

  • Power Supply: Connect 220VAC(N) and 220VAC(L) to the designated terminals.
  • Sensors: Connect the water, pipe, exhaust, and outdoor sensors to their respective inputs (T1, T2, T3, T4). Ensure correct polarity and secure connections.
  • Outputs: Connect the compressor, heater, valve, fan, and pump to their corresponding output terminals (K1, K2, K3, K4, K5).
  • Display: Connect the display panel to the mainboard using the provided cable. Remember, the panel must be installed indoors.
  • Pressure/Flowing Switches: Connect pressure and flowing switches if applicable to the designated terminals (HP, SM).

6. Operating Instructions

The ZL-R200A controller features an intuitive interface for easy operation.

Key Operations:

  • Set Water Temperature:
    Press or to adjust the water temperature. Holding the button will change the value faster. The setting will be saved automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity. The factory default setting is 40°C.
  • Working Mode Selection:
    The controller has two working modes: "AUTO" and "SAVE".
    • "AUTO" Mode: The system will maintain the set temperature by heating as needed.
    • "SAVE" Mode: Heating will only occur within the three pre-set time periods. If the "Auto restart function" (U80) is disabled (set to 0), the controller will default to "AUTO" mode after a power supply interruption.
  • Clock Setting:
    1. Press the M key. The hour digits will blink.
    2. Use or to set the hour.
    3. Press the M key again. The minute digits will blink.
    4. Use or to set the minute.
    5. Press the M key to exit the clock setting.
  • Periods Setting for "SAVE" Mode:
    1. Press and hold the M key for 3 seconds to enter the period setting status.
    2. Use or to select the desired period and toggle its on/off status.
    3. Use or to set the time value for the selected period.
    4. Press and hold the M key for 3 seconds to save the settings and exit.
  • Temperature Inquiry:
    When not in system parameter setting status, press the S key to consecutively display the temperature readings from all connected sensors. The results will be shown for 3 seconds.
  • On/Off:
    Press and hold the key for 3 seconds to switch the controller between online (operating) and offline (standby) modes.

7. System Parameters

System parameters allow for advanced configuration of the controller's behavior. Exercise caution when modifying these settings.

Accessing System Parameters:

  1. Press and keys simultaneously to enter the password input screen.
  2. Enter the password (default is "P00" if not changed) using and .
  3. Press S to confirm. If the password is correct, you will enter the parameter set status. If incorrect, the system will exit.

Setting Parameters:

  1. Press or to select a parameter.
  2. Press S to display the current value of the selected parameter.
  3. Press or to adjust the parameter value.
  4. Press S to return to parameter selection.
  5. Press and hold S for 5 seconds to save the settings and exit. If no key operation occurs for 15 seconds, the system will exit without saving.
