1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Veromount 5m DC 5V 2835 LED Strip Light. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation, and retain it for future reference.
The LED strip is available in various light colors including Cool White, Warm White, Neutral White, Red, Green, Blue, and RGB. It comes in two LED densities: 60 LEDs per meter or 120 LEDs per meter (RGB is 54 LEDs/m). You can also choose between IP20 non-waterproof and IP65 waterproof versions.
2. Safety Information
- Ensure the power supply is DC 5V. Using a higher voltage will damage the strip.
- Do not connect the LED strip directly to AC power.
- Always disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
- Avoid bending the strip sharply, especially at LED components, to prevent damage.
- The IP20 non-waterproof version is for indoor use only and must not be exposed to moisture.
- The IP65 waterproof version is protected against water jets but should not be submerged.
- Keep out of reach of children.
3. Package Contents
Your package should contain:
- 1x 5-meter 2835 LED Strip (Strip ONLY! Adapter, Controller, and Connector are NOT included).
4. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure you have a compatible DC 5V power adapter and any necessary connectors or dimmers (not included).
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and smooth. The LED strip has an adhesive backing for easy installation.
-
Measure and Cut (if necessary): The LED strip is trimmable. Locate the designated cut marks (usually indicated by a scissor icon or copper pads) along the strip. Cut only at these marks to avoid damaging the circuit.
Figure 1: LED strip showing designated cut points and 5V power input markings. Note the difference in LED density between 60 LED/m (top) and 120 LED/m (bottom). -
Connect Power: The LED strip comes with 2-pin wires on both ends. Connect these wires to your DC 5V power adapter or a compatible controller/dimmer. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
Figure 2: Example of an RGB LED strip connected to a 4-pin connector. For single-color strips, a 2-pin connection is used. - Mount the Strip: Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive tape on the back of the LED strip. Carefully press the strip onto the desired surface, ensuring firm contact along its entire length.
- Test: Once installed, connect the power adapter to an electrical outlet to test the LED strip.
5. Operation
- Power On/Off: The LED strip will illuminate once connected to a compatible DC 5V power source. To turn it off, disconnect the power or use a switch if integrated into your power supply or controller.
- Dimming: If you wish to dim the LED strip, a separate dimmer (not included) is required. Connect the dimmer between the 5V power source and the LED strip according to the dimmer's instructions.
- Color Changing (for RGB strips): For RGB versions, a compatible RGB controller (not included) is necessary to change colors and modes. Connect the RGB controller between the 5V power source and the RGB LED strip.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the LED strip, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For IP65 waterproof strips, a damp cloth can be used, but ensure no water enters the connection points. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check the strip for any signs of damage, loose connections, or discoloration.
- Storage: If removing the strip for storage, ensure it is clean and dry. Roll it loosely to avoid kinks or damage to the LEDs and circuitry.

9. User Tips
- For optimal brightness and longevity, ensure your 5V power supply provides adequate current for the full 5-meter length, especially for 120 LEDs/m strips.
- When installing, plan your layout carefully and test the strip before permanently adhering it to ensure all connections are secure and the light functions as expected.
- If using a dimmer or RGB controller, always refer to its specific instructions for compatibility and connection.
- Consider using aluminum profiles for a cleaner look, better heat dissipation, and added protection for your LED strip.
