1. Introduction

The ZTE MF79U Wingle functions as both a 4G modem and a portable WiFi router. It allows you to connect to a 4G mobile network and broadcast a Wi-Fi signal, enabling up to 10 devices (tablets, computers, mobile phones, gaming devices) to connect wirelessly. Additionally, one device can connect via a USB interface. The device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards.

2. Important Notes

  • Carrier Compatibility: Before use, verify that your telecom operator's frequency bands are compatible with the device's supported frequency bands. This is crucial for network connectivity.
  • Antenna Installation: While external antennas are optional, if you choose to install them, exercise caution. Do not apply excessive force to avoid damaging the antenna connectors.
  • Language Support: The device interface supports English and Chinese languages.
  • Website Password: The web management interface password may be unique to your device. Please retain your product packaging as it may contain this information.
  • SIM Card Type: Ensure you use a Micro SIM card with the ZTE MF79U.

5. Setup Guide

  2. Attach External Antennas (Optional): If you wish to use external antennas for improved signal, gently screw the two TS9 antennas into the antenna ports on the device. Do not overtighten.
  3. Power On: Plug the ZTE MF79U into a USB power source, such as a computer's USB port, a USB wall adapter, or a mobile power bank. The device will automatically power on and begin searching for a network.
  4. Wait for Network Connection: The indicator lights will show the device's status. Wait for the network indicator to show a stable connection (e.g., solid blue or green, depending on the model's specific indicators).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Connecting Devices via Wi-Fi

  1. Ensure the ZTE MF79U is powered on and connected to the mobile network.
  2. On your Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  3. Select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) corresponding to your ZTE MF79U (usually printed on a label on the device or packaging).

  5. Your device should now be connected to the internet via the MF79U's Wi-Fi hotspot.

6.2 Connecting Devices via USB

When connected to a computer via USB, the MF79U can function as a direct modem:

  1. Plug the ZTE MF79U into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. The device is Plug & Play, meaning it should automatically install necessary drivers. Follow any on-screen prompts.
  3. Once installed, your computer should detect the modem and establish an internet connection.

6.3 Accessing the Web Management Interface

To manage settings, such as Wi-Fi name, password, or network preferences:

  1. Connect your device to the MF79U via Wi-Fi or USB.
