4.5. Remote Control Programming

After all wiring connections are complete, you must program the remote controls:

  1. Keep pressing and holding the white programming switch on the control module. Do not release it.
  2. While holding the switch, quickly press the "Lock" button once on the remote you wish to program. The indicator light on the remote will flash, confirming successful programming.
  3. If programming fails, check if the remote control has batteries or try unplugging and re-plugging the power connector to the control module, then repeat the process.
  4. After programming, if the PKE antenna is plugged in and the remote control is nearby, the indicator light on the module will remain on. The vehicle can then be started. If the key is moved more than 5 meters away, the light will turn off, and the vehicle cannot be started.

5.4. High Security Feature

For enhanced security, the vehicle cannot be started if the key fob is not detected inside the car.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

The key fobs use a CR2032 battery. If the remote control's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive, replace the battery. CR2032 batteries can be purchased from local electronics stores.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Programming Failure: If the remote control programming is unsuccessful, ensure the remote has a fresh CR2032 battery. Also, try unplugging and re-plugging the main power connector to the control module before attempting programming again.
  • Vehicle Not Starting: If the vehicle does not start, verify that the key fob is inside the car and within detection range (within 5 meters of the control module). The system is designed to prevent starting if the key is too far away.
  • General Issues: For any complex issues or if you are unsure about troubleshooting steps, it is highly recommended to consult a professional alarm installer or locksmith.

8. User Tips

  • Compatibility Check: Always double-check that your car is a BMW F or G chassis or MINI with an OEM push start button and without comfort access function before attempting installation.
  • Professional Installation: Due to the required soldering and complex wiring, professional installation by a qualified alarm installer or locksmith is strongly advised to ensure correct functionality and avoid damage.
  • Post-Installation Testing: After installation and programming, thoroughly test all remote control functions and the PKE auto lock/unlock feature to confirm proper operation.
  • Battery Maintenance: Keep spare CR2032 batteries on hand for your key fobs to ensure uninterrupted performance of the PKE and remote functions.
