5. Setup Instructions

5.1. Remote Control Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert two AAA (1.5V) batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery cover and tighten the screw.

5.2. Pairing the Remote Control with the Receiver

For first use or after replacing batteries, the remote control needs to be paired with the receiver:

  1. Ensure the ride-on car is powered off.
  2. Insert the batteries into the remote control (if not already done).
  3. Press and hold the 'Code' button (or equivalent pairing button) on the remote control.
  4. While holding the 'Code' button, power on the ride-on car.
  5. The remote control's indicator light should flash and then become solid, indicating successful pairing.
  6. Release the 'Code' button.

If pairing fails, power off both the car and remote, then repeat the steps.

5.3. Receiver Module Installation

The receiver module should be installed in the designated compartment within the ride-on car. Ensure all wiring connections (steering motor, drive motors, power supply) are correctly matched and securely plugged into the receiver. Refer to your specific ride-on car's wiring diagram for precise connection points.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the remote control and receiver are properly set up and paired, you can operate the ride-on car using the remote control.

6.1. Remote Control Functions

Refer to Figure 8 for button layout and functions:

  • Forward: Moves the car forward.
  • Speed: Adjusts the speed setting (typically multiple levels).
  • Back: Moves the car backward.
  • Stop: Stops the car (emergency brake function).
  • Right: Turns the car right.
  • Left: Turns the car left.
  • Code: Used for pairing the remote control with the receiver.
  • Speed Indicator: Shows the current speed setting.

6.2. Emergency Braking Function

The remote control features an emergency braking function. Pressing the 'Stop' button will immediately halt the ride-on car, providing an important safety feature.

6.3. Models Without Remote Control Function

Please note that the HY2005M-HL-24V module does not support remote control functionality. This module is a motor controller only.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the remote control and receiver modules with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace remote control batteries when the indicator light dims or operation becomes erratic. Always use fresh AAA (1.5V) batteries.
  • Storage: Store the remote control and receiver in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, when not in use. Remove batteries from the remote control if storing for extended periods.
  • Connection Check: Periodically check all wiring connections to the receiver module to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion or damage.
