8. Troubleshooting (Q&A)
Problem 1: Apple iPhone connection failed
- Turn off Cellular Data in phone settings before connecting to Wi-Fi.
- If connected to CarPlay, turn off Bluetooth, then connect to camera Wi-Fi.
- Ensure album and network permissions are enabled for the app.
Problem 2: Android phone connection failure
- After connecting to camera Wi-Fi, if prompted about no internet access, select "Keep WLAN Connection".
- Close Mobile Data first, then connect to Wi-Fi.
Problem 3: App cannot save settings (default settings restored after reboot)
- After setting in the App, press and hold the camera power button to turn it off, then briefly press to turn it back on.
Problem 4: App video file is empty, no video loaded
- Open App settings to format the memory card, then record video.
- If still no video, insert the memory card into a computer to check for damage or incompatibility. Replace if necessary.
- Recommended: Class 10 SanDisk/KIOXIA/Samsung memory cards (32GB or 64GB). Max supported size is 256GB.
Problem 5: Computer cannot play videos smoothly or at all
- Recommended players: PotPlayer and KMplayer.
- Low computer specifications may cause choppy playback, especially for 4K videos.
Problem 6: Cannot connect 2 phones at the same time
- The camera's Wi-Fi supports only one phone connection at a time. Disconnect the first phone's Wi-Fi before connecting another.
Problem 7: Timestamp error, missing recorded video, or no video when phone not connected
- This may occur after a complete power failure (e.g., car repair, battery replacement). Reconnect the camera's Wi-Fi with your phone to synchronize time.
- Regularly check the camera's proper functioning.
Problem 8: Forgot Wi-Fi name or password
- Press and hold the camera key for 20 seconds, or use a paperclip to press the reset button to restore factory settings.
Problem 9: Do I need to connect the camera Wi-Fi and open the App every time I drive?
- No, the camera automatically turns on and off with the car. The app and Wi-Fi connection are only needed for accessing recorded footage or changing settings.
Problem 10: Cannot find the Wi-Fi network
- First, remove the memory card and then search for Wi-Fi. A faulty memory card can prevent Wi-Fi from appearing.
- Press and hold the camera button for 20 seconds, or use a paper clip to press the reset button.
- Check if the camera's indicator light is on. No light indicates no power, and thus no Wi-Fi.
9. User Tips
- For optimal performance, use a Class 10 SanDisk, KIOXIA, or Samsung memory card with 32GB or 64GB capacity. The camera supports up to 256GB.
- When reviewing footage on a computer, PotPlayer and KMplayer are recommended for smooth playback, especially for 4K resolution videos.
- Regularly check the camera's indicator light to ensure it is powered on and functioning correctly.
- If you need specific power cables (fuse box or OBD) instead of the default plug-and-play cable, contact support before your order is shipped.
- If you have a single front camera version, you cannot add a separate rear camera later. Ensure you purchase a dual-cam version if rear recording is desired.
- While dual-cam versions include both cameras, you have the option to install only the front camera if the rear camera is not needed.
- Additional front camera cables are available for purchase if required; contact support for details.
10. Maintenance
- Memory Card Management: Periodically format your memory card through the FITCAMX app to ensure optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Replace the memory card if it shows signs of damage or incompatibility.
- Firmware Updates: Check the FITCAMX app or manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
- Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to maintain clear video quality. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Power Supply: Ensure the power connection is secure. If using a fuse box or OBD cable, verify connections periodically.
11. Warranty and Support
The Fitcamx Dash Cam comes with a one-year product warranty. In case of quality problems within this period, free replacement parts will be provided. If repair is not possible, a free replacement product may be offered.
For damages resulting from accident, misuse, or modification, the buyer is responsible for the cost of replacement parts and associated shipping fees.
For any technical assistance, warranty claims, or inquiries regarding additional cables, please contact Fitcamx customer support.
