6. Installation

The CN101S timer can be installed on a panel or wall. Ensure proper wiring according to the diagram below. Always disconnect power before wiring.

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Identify the 'POWER' input terminals (Line of fire/+/DC and Zero line/-/DC).
  2. Connect the appropriate power supply (12V, 24V, 110V, or 220V AC/DC depending on your model) to these terminals.
  3. Connect the 'LOAD' output terminals to your electrical appliance. The timer acts as a switch for the appliance.
  4. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.

7. Initial Setup and Time Setting

Before programming, ensure the timer is powered on and the internal battery is charged (allow a few hours after initial power-up). If the display is blank or shows garbled characters, press the 'C' (Reset) button with a pointed object (e.g., a pen tip).

Setting Current Time:

  1. Press and hold the Clock button.
  2. While holding Clock, press D+ to set the current day of the week.
  3. While holding Clock, press H+ to set the current hour.
  4. While holding Clock, press M+ to set the current minute.
  5. Release the Clock button when finished.

8. Operating Instructions

8.1. Programming ON/OFF Times

The timer supports up to 8 ON/OFF programs per day for a 7-day weekly cycle.

  1. Press the P button once. The display will show '1 ON'.
  2. Press D+ to select the day(s) for this program (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU, or combinations like MO-FR, SA-SU, MO-SA, etc.).
  3. Press H+ to set the desired ON hour.
  4. Press M+ to set the desired ON minute.
  5. Press P again. The display will show '1 OFF'.
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired OFF time for the first program.
  7. Continue pressing P to cycle through '2 ON', '2 OFF', up to '8 ON', '8 OFF', setting each program as needed.
  8. After setting all desired programs, press the Clock button to exit programming mode and return to the current time display.

8.2. Manual Override (ON/AUTO/OFF)

Press the MANUAL/S+ button to cycle through the operating modes:

  • ON: The appliance is continuously ON, ignoring programmed settings.
  • AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF settings.
  • OFF: The appliance is continuously OFF, ignoring programmed settings.

For automatic operation, ensure the timer is set to 'AUTO' mode.

8.3. Countdown Function

The timer includes a countdown function, allowing you to set a duration for the appliance to remain ON or OFF, up to 24 hours.

  1. While in normal time display, press and hold the C/R button.
  2. Use H+ and M+ to set the desired countdown duration.
  3. Press MANUAL/S+ to start the countdown. The display will show 'ON' or 'OFF' and count down.
  4. To cancel the countdown, press C/R again.

9. User Tips

  • Minimum Activation Time: The timer supports a minimum activation time of 1 second, allowing for very precise control of short-duration events.
  • Power Outage Memory: The built-in rechargeable battery ensures that your programmed settings are retained for up to 60 days during a power outage. No need to reprogram after a short power loss.
  • Resetting: If the display becomes unresponsive or shows incorrect information, use a thin object to press the recessed 'C' (Reset) button. This will clear all settings, so you will need to reprogram the time and ON/OFF cycles.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank: Check power connections. If power is present, press the 'C' (Reset) button. The internal battery might be fully discharged; allow it to charge for a few hours.
  • Programs not executing: Ensure the timer is in 'AUTO' mode (check the display). Verify that the current time is set correctly and that your ON/OFF programs do not overlap or conflict.
  • Incorrect time display: Reset the timer using the 'C' button and then re-set the current time as described in Section 7.
  • Buttons unresponsive: Press the 'C' (Reset) button. If the issue persists, ensure the device is receiving stable power.

11. Maintenance

  • Clean the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
  • Regularly check wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear.
