Operating Instructions
1. Basic Recording
Once powered on, the dash camera will automatically begin recording. The recording status is typically indicated by an icon on the screen. Recordings are saved to the Micro SD card.
2. Intelligent Voice Control
The S800 supports intelligent voice commands for hands-free operation. Ensure the voice control feature is enabled in the settings. Supported commands (English only) include:
- "Taking pictures" (to capture a still image)
- "Turn on the recording" (to start recording if paused)
- "Turn on the screen" (to activate the display)
- "Turn off the screen" (to turn off the display while recording continues)

3. Loop Recording
The camera records video in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) and continuously loops. When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. The S800 uses H.265 video compression, which is more efficient than H.264, saving approximately 50% more memory for the same video quality.

4. G-Sensor Emergency Lock
The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the camera automatically locks the current video segment, protecting it from being overwritten by loop recording. These locked files are stored in a separate folder on the memory card.

5. 24-Hour Parking Monitoring
With the optional step-down line (hardwire kit) connected, the S800 can provide continuous surveillance even when your vehicle is parked and the engine is off. This mode typically uses motion detection or G-sensor triggers to record events, conserving power and storage.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and screen. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Memory Card: Regularly format your Micro SD card (at least once a month) within the camera's settings to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important footage before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the IMOU GO app or the official IMOU website periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date can improve performance and add new features.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash camera to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and component longevity.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on:
- Check the power cable connection to the camera and the car's power outlet.
- Ensure the car's power outlet is functioning.
- If using a hardwire kit, verify its connection to the fuse box.
- Recording issues (not recording, corrupted files):
- Ensure a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card is inserted correctly.
- Format the Micro SD card within the camera's settings.
- Try a different, known-good Micro SD card.
- Check if the memory card is full; loop recording should prevent this, but errors can occur.
- Wi-Fi connection problems:
- Ensure the camera's Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled.
- Restart both the camera and your smartphone.
- Verify you are connecting to the correct Wi-Fi network (SSID) provided by the camera.
- Voice control not responding:
- Ensure the voice control feature is enabled in the camera settings.
- Speak clearly and directly towards the camera.
- Confirm you are using the supported English commands.
- Parking monitoring not working:
- Confirm that the dash camera is connected via a step-down line (hardwire kit) for constant power.
- Check parking mode settings in the camera or app.
User Tips
- Memory Card: Always use a high-quality, reputable brand Class 10 (or U1/U3) Micro SD card for reliable recording. Generic cards can lead to recording errors.
- Parking Mode Power: For continuous 24-hour parking monitoring, a hardwire kit (step-down line) is essential as the built-in battery is primarily for emergency recording during impacts, not extended surveillance.
- Initial Setup: After installing a new memory card, it's good practice to format it directly through the dash camera's menu to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
- Voice Commands: Practice the voice commands in a quiet environment to get familiar with them before relying on them while driving.
