5. Operation

  1. Prepare for Pumping: Place the inlet end of the pump tube into the liquid source and the outlet end into the receiving container.
  2. Turn On Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the pump and the electrical outlet.
  3. Adjust Flow Rate: The pump features an easy-to-use knob on the front panel to adjust the flow rate. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the flow rate (towards MAX) and counter-clockwise to decrease it (towards MIN). The adjustable range is 180ml/min to 520ml/min.

The pump operates in speed mode and does not support forward and reverse flow. The direction of water flow is indicated by an arrow in the demonstration video.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Tubing Replacement

The Norprene 40# ID4mm x OD7.2mm tubing has a lifetime of approximately 1000 hours. Regular inspection and replacement are crucial for maintaining optimal pump performance and preventing leaks.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance.
  2. Remove Pump Head: The KHM pump head is designed for easy replacement. Gently unclip or unscrew the pump head cover to access the internal components.
  3. Replace Tube: Carefully remove the old tubing from the guide wheel and replace it with new tubing, ensuring it is correctly seated within the gear structure.
  4. Reassemble: Reattach the pump head cover, ensuring it is securely fastened.

6.2. Cleaning

The pump body should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the pump in water or use harsh chemicals. The liquid only passes through the pump tube, not the pump body, minimizing internal contamination.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Pump not starting: Ensure the power adapter is correctly connected and the power outlet is functional. Check for any visible damage to the power cable or pump.
  • No flow or low flow:
    • Verify that the tubing is correctly installed and not kinked or blocked.
    • Check if the tubing is worn out and needs replacement.
    • Ensure the liquid source is sufficient and the inlet tube is submerged.
    • Confirm the flow adjustment knob is not set to minimum.
  • Unusual noise during operation: This could indicate worn tubing or an obstruction in the pump head. Inspect the tubing and pump head for any issues.

8. User Tips

  • Flow Rate Variation: Be aware that the actual flow rate can be affected by ambient temperature, the material and elasticity of the pump tube, and the viscosity of the liquid being pumped. The stated flow rate is based on testing with water at 400 rpm at room temperature.
  • Pressure Considerations: This is a low-pressure peristaltic pump. While it can handle various liquids, it is not designed for high-pressure applications. Ensure your application's pressure requirements are within the pump's capabilities to avoid damage or inefficient operation.
  • Tubing Lifespan: Keep spare Norprene tubing on hand, especially for continuous use, as its lifespan is approximately 1000 hours.

9. Warranty and Support

The Kamoer KCPA600 Peristaltic Pump comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use conditions.
