1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of your EAFC 400W 12V/24V Smart Pulse Repair Car Battery Charger. This intelligent charger is designed for various lead-acid batteries, including water batteries, dry batteries, maintenance-free batteries, and AGM start-stop batteries. It features automatic voltage identification, multiple charging modes, and safety protections.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • It is strictly forbidden to charge non-lead-acid batteries with non-12V output voltage, non-rechargeable batteries, or non-voltage batteries for scrapped batteries. Lithium batteries are not supported for charging.
  • To charge a vehicle or equipment battery, remove the battery from the vehicle. Choose an empty area without flammable and explosive items around to charge the battery, to avoid fire. Accidents are at your own risk.
  • If the charging time exceeds 12 hours without supervision, the power supply should be cut off. Prolonged charging is strictly prohibited.
  • This product must be protected from rain and direct sunlight. It is strictly forbidden to cover the charger during operation. Keep away from open flames during charging and store flammable materials in a well-ventilated environment.
  • Before charging, inspect the charger, plugs, and power cords for any damage or cracks. If abnormal, stop using the product immediately. To avoid danger, contact the seller for repair or replacement by professional maintenance personnel before further use.
  • Always disconnect the power supply before connecting or disconnecting the battery charger and the battery.

Note: Lithium batteries (12.6V) cannot be charged with this device.

5. Setup

  1. Ensure the battery parameters (voltage, type, and capacity) match the charger's capabilities.
  2. Connect the red clip to the battery's positive (+) terminal.
  3. Connect the black clip to the battery's negative (-) terminal.
  4. Once connected, the LCD screen will light up, displaying the battery voltage and ambient temperature cyclically.
  5. If the positive and negative poles are connected incorrectly or abnormally, the screen will flash "reverseconnection" and display "El-I-". Correct the connection before proceeding.
  6. Insert the charger's power plug into a suitable AC power outlet. The charger will automatically begin charging.

6. Operating Instructions

General Charging Process:

  1. After proper connection and plugging into power, the charger will automatically start charging. The screen will cycle through displaying battery voltage, current, and ambient temperature.
  2. Select the appropriate charging mode that matches your battery type (see "Charging Modes" below for details).
  3. When charging is complete, the battery power bar on the screen will show 100% and "FUL". It is recommended to continue trickle charging for approximately 1 hour for optimal results.
  4. First, unplug the AC power cord from the outlet. Then, remove the positive and negative clips from the battery. The charger can now be safely disconnected.

  • CAR/TRUCK Mode (Fast Charge): For large batteries. Charges 12V batteries at a maximum of 8A and 24V batteries at a maximum of 4A.
  • AGM/GEL Mode: Specifically designed for AGM and Calcium batteries.
  • MOTORCYCLE Mode (Slow Charge): For smaller batteries, charging at a maximum current of 1.5A.
  • REPAIR Mode (18 hours): An advanced battery recovery mode for repairing and restoring old, idle, damaged, stratified, or sulfated batteries. Note that not all batteries can be fully recovered.
  • MODE Selection Button: Use this button to cycle through and select the desired charging mode.

  1. No-Load Mode: Detects low voltage start-up power difference or full charge light load.
  2. Constant Current Mode: Carries out adaptive current charging to protect the battery, used when vehicles are idle for a long time and cannot be fired.
  3. Constant Voltage Mode: Constant voltage charge, avoids overcharge, used when the battery is old and cannot be charged.
  4. Trickle-Down Mode: Weak current balance full or full power indicates that charging is complete.
  5. Floating Charge Mode: A full charge is about to be fully charged.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the charger clean and dry. Protect it from rain, moisture, and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure the charger is used in a well-ventilated area, away from open flames and flammable materials.
  • The intelligent thermostat fan provides noise reduction and cooling, ensuring long-term full load operation without excessive heat and extending service life.
  • Regularly inspect the power cords, plugs, and clips for any signs of wear, damage, or cracks. Replace if necessary.
  • Store the charger in a safe place when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting

  • "El-I-" Error Display: This indicates an incorrect or abnormal connection of the positive and negative battery terminals. Disconnect and re-connect the clips correctly.
  • Charger Abnormalities: If the charger, plugs, or power cords show any damage or cracks, stop using the product immediately. Contact the seller for professional repair or replacement.
  • Battery Not Recovered in Repair Mode: While the Repair Mode is an advanced recovery function, it cannot recover all damaged batteries.

9. User Tips

  • Power Requirement: This charger requires a continuous AC power supply to operate. It is not a portable jump starter and must be plugged into a wall outlet during use.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The charger is designed to automatically stop charging when the battery reaches full capacity (100% FUL).
  • Trickle Charging: For optimal results, it is recommended to continue trickle charging for about 1 hour after the display shows "FUL".
  • Battery Capacity: The charger can handle batteries up to 400AH. For batteries larger than 400AH (e.g., 500AH), this charger is not suitable.
  • Gel Batteries: This charger is suitable for charging Gel batteries, with a dedicated AGM/GEL mode.
