2. Important Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before operating the amplifier.
- Do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
ATTENTION: Speaker Matching
Normally, the rating power of the amplifier should be 1.5 times the power of tops speakers and 2 times the power for subwoofers. To protect and extend your amplifier's working life, do not use this amplifier under 2 ohms. K series amplifiers are suitable for Middle and High speakers, and are not recommended for subwoofers.

4. Setup and Connections
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the amplifier and inspect it for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all components are present.
4.2 Front and Rear Panel Overview

Figure 3: K4-1000 Amplifier Front and Rear Panel Layout
- Front Panel: Power amplifier handrail, heat dissipation holes, control knobs (for each channel), indicator lights (Clip, Signal, Power), and power switch.
- Rear Panel: Power input, radiator fans, signal inputs (Combo XLR type, 3pin), and power outputs (Speakon connectors, supporting Mono/Bridge+Stereo modes).
4.3 Power Connection
Connect the amplifier to a suitable power outlet using the provided power cable. Ensure the voltage matches the amplifier's requirements (90-240V). The amplifier may come with different plug types depending on your region. Refer to Figure 4 for common plug types.

Figure 4: Common Power Plug Types
4.4 Audio Input Connections
Use high-quality Combo XLR type, 3pin cables to connect your audio source (mixer, pre-amplifier) to the signal input ports on the rear panel of the K4-1000 amplifier. Each channel has a dedicated input.
4.5 Speaker Output Connections
Connect your speakers to the power output ports on the rear panel using Speakon connectors. The amplifier supports various configurations:
- Stereo Mode: Connect one speaker per channel.
- Bridge Mode: Combines two channels for higher power output to a single speaker. Consult the specifications for bridge power ratings and ensure your speaker impedance is compatible (typically higher impedance for bridge mode).
Always ensure correct polarity and secure connections to prevent damage to the amplifier or speakers.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- Ensure all connections (power, input, output) are secure before powering on.
- Turn down the control knobs (gain) for all channels to their minimum setting.
- Press the power switch on the front panel to turn on the amplifier. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait a few seconds for the amplifier to stabilize.
- To power off, turn down all control knobs, then press the power switch.
5.2 Adjusting Volume (Gain)
Each channel has an independent control knob on the front panel. Slowly increase the gain for each channel to achieve the desired volume level. Monitor the indicator lights:
- Signal Light: Illuminates when an audio signal is present.
- Clip Light: Illuminates when the signal is too strong and clipping (distortion) is occurring. Reduce the gain immediately if this light stays on or flashes frequently to prevent damage to speakers and the amplifier.
5.3 Bridge Mode Operation
If using bridge mode, ensure the amplifier is configured correctly (refer to the rear panel diagram for specific switch settings if applicable) and that the connected speaker's impedance is appropriate for bridge mode operation. Bridge mode typically requires a higher impedance load (e.g., 8 ohms) to prevent overheating and damage.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the heat dissipation holes and radiator fans are free from dust and obstructions. Regular cleaning of the vents can help maintain optimal cooling performance.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the amplifier in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting
The K4-1000 amplifier incorporates several protection mechanisms to ensure reliable operation. If you encounter issues, consider the following:
- No Power:
- Check the power cable connection to the amplifier and the wall outlet.
- Ensure the power switch is in the 'On' position.
- Verify the power outlet is functional.
- No Sound Output:
- Check all audio input and speaker output connections.
- Ensure the gain knobs for the channels are not at minimum.
- Verify the audio source is sending a signal.
- Check speaker cables and speaker functionality.
- Distorted Sound (Clip Light On):
- Reduce the input signal level from your audio source.
- Lower the gain control knobs on the amplifier.
- Ensure speaker impedance is not too low (especially not below 2 ohms).
- Overheating (Amplifier Shuts Down):
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the amplifier. Clear any obstructions from the heat dissipation holes and fans.
- Verify speaker impedance is within the recommended range (not below 2 ohms).
- Allow the amplifier to cool down before restarting.
- Protection Circuits: The amplifier has built-in protection against temperature, over current, and short circuits. If the amplifier shuts down unexpectedly, it may be due to one of these protections. Disconnect power, check connections and load impedance, and allow it to cool before restarting.

9. User Tips
- Speaker Compatibility: As noted in the safety section, this amplifier is optimized for middle and high-frequency speakers. It is not recommended for driving subwoofers. Ensure your speakers are matched appropriately to the amplifier's power output and impedance requirements.
- Gain Staging: Always start with the amplifier's gain knobs at minimum before powering on. Gradually increase the gain to prevent sudden loud noises and potential damage to your speakers.
- Ventilation: For prolonged use, especially in rack-mounted setups, ensure there is ample space around the amplifier for proper airflow to prevent overheating.
