Setup

1. Charging the Battery

The TI120 is equipped with a 3.7V/5000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. For optimal performance, fully charge the device before first use. Connect the Type-C USB cable to the device and a suitable power adapter (not included). The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 5 hours and provides continuous use for more than 6 hours.

2. Inserting the Micro SD Card

The device comes with a 32GB Micro SD card for storing thermal images. Locate the SD card slot, typically on the side of the device, and insert the card until it clicks into place. Ensure the device is powered off before inserting or removing the SD card.

1. Device Overview and Controls

Familiarize yourself with the buttons and display:

  • Power Button: Press and hold to turn the device on/off.
  • SET Button: Access menu options and confirm selections.
  • Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigate through menus and adjust settings.
  • Picture Browsing Button: View stored images.
  • Return Button: Go back to the previous screen or exit a menu.
  • Camera Button: Capture thermal images.
  • Lighting Button: Activate the built-in LED light.

2. Image Mode Selection (Fusion Modes)

The TI120 offers five image fusion modes to combine thermal and visible light images for enhanced detail. Use the left and right navigation buttons under the live image screen to adjust the degree of fusion:

  • 0% (Pure visible light image)
  • 25%
  • 50%
  • 75%
  • 100% (Pure thermal image)

3. Color Palettes

Choose from 5 color palettes to visualize temperature differences effectively:

  • Rainbow
  • Iron oxide red
  • Cold color
  • White heat
  • Black heat

4. Temperature Measurement Methods

The TI120 supports multiple temperature measurement methods:

  • Focused Area (ROI) Temperature Measurement: Measure temperature within a selected region of interest.
  • Center Point Temperature Measurement: Provides accurate temperature readings at the center of the screen.
  • Automatic Tracking of High and Low Temperatures: The device automatically identifies and displays the highest and lowest temperature points, helping to confirm anomalies quickly.

5. High and Low Temperature Alarm

The device features a high and low temperature alarm with LED lights flashing to alert the user when temperatures exceed or fall below set thresholds. This is particularly useful for continuous monitoring.

6. Data Communication and PC Software

The TI120 supports connection to a PC via its Type-C USB port for data transfer and analysis. The PC software offers two modes:

  • USB Drive Mode: Browse images, analyze image data, and generate/export PDF reports.
  • USB Camera Mode: Take pictures, project images, and automatically save pictures for over-temperature events.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
  • Environmental Protection: The TI120 has an IP65 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. However, it is not designed for submersion.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Image unclear/blurry: Check if the lens is clean. Adjust the focus if available (this model has fixed focus). Ensure proper distance to the object.
  • Temperature readings seem inaccurate: Verify the emissivity setting is correct for the material being measured. Ensure there are no strong heat sources interfering with the measurement area.
  • Cannot transfer files to PC: Ensure the USB cable is properly connected and the device is in USB Drive mode. Check PC software installation.
