5. Installation
This motor is designed for use with ZM87 electric curtain track sliding rails. The applicable gearbox type is not included in the box and must be purchased separately.
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Curtain Track: Ensure your ZM87 electric curtain track is properly installed and ready to receive the motor.
- Align the Motor: Align the motor drive shaft with the flat hole of the gearbox.
- Insert and Adjust: Insert the motor's drive shaft into the flat hole of the gearbox and adjust it to fit securely.
- Secure the Motor: Once aligned, secure the motor to the curtain track according to the track's specific mounting instructions.
6. Setup
6.1. App Connection (Tuya Smart Life App)
Note: Ensure the motor is connected to electricity and your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
For Zigbee Motor:
A Tuya Zigbee Hub (M6) is required to connect the Zigbee motor to the Tuya APP and enable smart features like voice control.
- Enter Pairing Mode: Press the motor's "Set key" 3 times in 5 seconds. The indicator light will flash quickly and then go out, indicating it's ready to connect.
- Add Device in Tuya APP:
a. Open the Tuya Smart Life App.
b. On the Zigbee Hub page, click "+ Add subdevice" at the bottom.
c. Click "LED already blink" when prompted.
d. The Zigbee hub will search for devices automatically.
e. Once the device is found, click "Done".
f. Rename the device as desired and click "Done" again.
For WiFi Motor:
- Enter Pairing Mode: Press the motor's "Set key" 3 times in 5 seconds. The indicator light will flash quickly and then go out, indicating it's ready to connect.
- Add Device in Tuya APP:
a. Open the Tuya Smart Life App.
b. Click "+" to add a device.
c. Turn on WiFi on your phone; devices will be added automatically. Click on the device icon.
d. Enter your WiFi information (SSID and password) and click "Next".
e. Once connected, click "Done".
6.2. Remote Control Pairing
The remote control uses a CR2450 button cell battery (not included).
Pairing to a Single-Channel Remote:
- Press the motor's "Set key" once. The motor light will flash.
- Within 5 seconds, press the "Up key" on the remote.
- The motor light will flash rapidly, indicating successful pairing.
Pairing to a Multi-Channel Remote:
- Choose one of the channels on the remote to connect with the motor using the "<" or ">" buttons.
- Press the motor's "Set key" once. The motor light will flash.
- Within 5 seconds, press the "Up key" on the remote.
- The motor light will flash rapidly, indicating successful pairing.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1. APP Control
Once connected to the Tuya Smart Life App, you can control your curtains remotely. The app interface allows you to open, close, or stop the curtains at any desired position.
7.2. Voice Control
Integrate your motor with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free control. (For Zigbee version, ensure your Tuya Zigbee Hub is connected to your voice assistant.)
