2. Safety Information
Always exercise caution when working with electricity. This tool is designed to assist in electrical testing but should not replace professional judgment or standard safety practices. Ensure the tool is in good working condition before use. The pen features drop-resistant all-round insulation material to improve safety performance.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing electrical work.
- Do not use the tool if it appears damaged or is not functioning correctly.
- Verify the tool's functionality on a known live circuit before testing unknown circuits.
- Keep out of reach of children.

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The device requires 3 LR41 button batteries (built-in for delivery). To install or replace batteries:
- Turn off the top copper cap of the pen.
- Disassemble the internal parts and insert three LR41 button batteries.
- Put the parts back, touch the pen head and the pen cap, and perform a self-test before use to ensure proper functionality.

4. Operating Instructions
The voltage detector pen offers several testing functions:
4.1. Electrical On-Off Detection (Continuity Test)
To check the continuity of a wire or plug:
- Contact the touch pole of the pen to the wire or plug.
- If the inner core of the wire is intact, the LED green light will illuminate.
- If the light does not illuminate, it indicates that the wire core is disconnected or there is poor contact.

4.2. Live/Neutral Wire Discrimination (Zero Fire Wire Identification)
There are two methods to distinguish between live (fire) and neutral (zero) wires:
Method 1: Non-Contact Detection
- Insert the electric pen bit into a wall socket or touch it to an insulated wire.
- If the green light illuminates, it indicates a live (fire) wire.
- If no light illuminates, it indicates a neutral (zero) wire.
Figure 5: Live/Neutral Wire Discrimination (Non-Contact)
Method 2: Contact Detection (for B09 model, also applies to B12)
- Touch the metal touch electrode (copper cap) at the bottom of the electric pen with your hand.
- Insert the electric pen bit into the jack or touch the wire.
- For a zero line, the green light will be highlighted.
- For a firewire, both red and green lights will be highlighted.

4.3. Line Break Point Judgment
To detect breaks in a wire:
- Detect along the length of the wire.
- If the LED green light illuminates, the line is unobstructed.
- If the light does not illuminate, it indicates a line disconnection point.

5. Maintenance
- Keep the voltage detector pen clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Replace batteries promptly when the indicator lights become dim or fail to illuminate.
- Store the tool in a safe place to prevent physical damage.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Indicator light does not illuminate during electrical on-off detection. | Wire core is disconnected or contact is poor. | Check the wire for breaks or ensure proper contact with the test pen. |
| Indicator lights are dim or do not respond. | Low battery power. | Replace the 3 LR41 button batteries. |
| Inconsistent or inaccurate readings. | Poor contact with the test point or external interference. | Ensure firm and direct contact with the test point. Re-test in a different location if possible. |
