  • Waterproof Keypad: The keypad is IP68 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust and immersion in water. However, avoid prolonged submersion or high-pressure water jets directly on the unit.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Software Updates: Keep the Tuya APP updated to the latest version to benefit from new features and security enhancements.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the power supply unit is in a dry, well-ventilated area and free from obstructions.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your access control system, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Door not unlocking:
    • Check power supply: Ensure the power supply unit is receiving power and outputting DC12V.
    • Verify wiring: Double-check all wiring connections according to the provided diagrams. Loose or incorrect wiring is a common cause.
    • Correct credentials: Ensure you are using a correctly programmed RFID card or password.
    • Tuya APP connection: Verify that the Tuya APP is connected to the access controller and your Wi-Fi network is stable.
  • Keypad unresponsive:
    • Check power: Ensure the keypad is receiving power. The backlight should illuminate when touched.
    • Reset: Disconnect and reconnect power to the system to perform a hard reset.
  • RFID cards not working:
    • Ensure cards are correctly programmed. Refer to the programming instructions for adding cards.
    • Verify card type: The system supports EM compatible 125KHz cards.
  • Difficulty programming codes/cards:
    • Follow the Tuya APP setup instructions carefully for adding users, passwords, and cards.
    • Ensure the access controller is in programming mode if required for manual programming (refer to specific programming guide if available, not detailed here).
  • No access logs in Tuya APP:
    • Ensure the access controller is properly connected to the Tuya APP and has a stable internet connection.
    • Check APP settings to ensure logging is enabled.

User Tips

  • Door Type Selection: When choosing a kit, consider your door type (wooden, metal, glass) and how it opens (inward/outward, frameless) to ensure you select the correct electric lock and any necessary brackets.
  • Programming Codes: For programming codes, ensure you follow the sequence correctly. The Q&A indicates users sometimes need reminders on how to program codes.
  • Access Logs: The system keeps logs of who enters/exits, which can be viewed via the Tuya APP. This is a useful feature for monitoring access.
  • Temporary Access: Utilize the periodic or one-time password features in the Tuya APP to grant temporary access to visitors or service personnel without compromising your main access credentials.
  • Outdoor Installation: While the keypad is IP68 waterproof, ensure all other components, especially the power supply, are protected from direct exposure to the elements if installed outdoors.
