Figure 2: Rear Panel Connections (Water In/Out, Power)

  1. Placement: Place the induction heater on a stable, level, and non-flammable surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation.
  2. Water Cooling System:
    • Connect the water inlet to a reliable water source capable of providing 0.2 Mpa pressure and 2 L/min flow rate.
    • Connect the water outlet to a drain or a closed-loop cooling system (e.g., a water chiller).
    • Ensure all water connections are secure and leak-free.
    • Important: The water cooling system must be operational before powering on the induction heater. The machine has a water shortage protection function, but continuous operation without water will cause damage.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the unit to a single-phase 220V, 50Hz power supply. Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded and can handle a 15KW load.
  4. Induction Coil Connection: Connect the heating coil to the output terminals on the front of the unit. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Foot Switch (Optional): If using the foot switch for operation, connect it to the designated port on the control panel.

6. Operating Instructions

The digital control panel allows precise control over the heating process. Refer to the control panel diagram for button and knob identification.

Figure 3: Digital Control Panel

  1. Power On: Ensure all connections (power, water, coil) are secure. Turn on the main power switch. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Set Parameters:
    • Heating Time (1-99 s): Use the 'Heating Time' adjustment to set the desired duration for the primary heating phase.
    • Retaining Time (1-99 s): Use the 'Retaining Time' adjustment to set the duration for the holding/soaking phase after initial heating.
    • Cooling Time (1-99 s): Use the 'Cooling Time' adjustment to set the duration for the cooling phase.
    • Heat Power Adj: Adjust the knob to control the output power during the heating phase.
    • Retain Power Adj: Adjust the knob to control the output power during the retaining phase.
  3. Mode Selection: Use the 'Auto/Man' switch to select between Automatic and Manual operation modes. In Automatic mode, the unit follows the set heating, retaining, and cooling times.
  4. Start Operation: Place the workpiece within the induction coil. Press the 'START' button (or activate the foot switch) to begin the heating cycle. The 'Output Current (A)' display will show the current output.
  5. Monitor Operation: Observe the workpiece and the machine's indicators. The 'Protection Function' indicators (Over-current, Over-voltage, Overheating, Water shortage, Phase failure) will light up if an issue occurs.
  6. Stop Operation: To stop the heating cycle at any time, press the 'STOP' button (or release the foot switch).
  7. Power Off: After use, press the 'STOP' button, then turn off the main power switch. Allow the unit to cool down before disconnecting water or power.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your induction heater.

  • Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water System Check: Regularly inspect the water cooling system for leaks, blockages, or signs of corrosion. Ensure the water quality is clean to prevent scale buildup in the cooling channels.
  • Coil Inspection: Periodically inspect the induction coil for any damage, cracks, or signs of wear. Replace damaged coils immediately.
  • Electrical Connections: Check all electrical connections for tightness and signs of overheating.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are clear and unobstructed to prevent overheating of internal components.

8. Troubleshooting

The induction heater is equipped with a protection function that will automatically shut down the machine if certain parameters are not met. Refer to the control panel indicators for specific fault conditions.

  • Machine Shuts Down / Protection Indicator On:
    • Over-current: Check the workpiece size and material. Ensure the induction coil is correctly matched to the application. Reduce 'Heat Power Adj' or 'Retain Power Adj'.
    • Over-voltage: Verify the input voltage is stable and within the specified range (220V).
    • Overheating: Check the water cooling system. Ensure adequate water flow (2 L/min) and that the water temperature is below 40 ℃ (104 ℉). Clean any blocked ventilation openings.
    • Water Shortage: Verify the water supply is connected and flowing correctly. Check for kinks in hoses or blockages in the cooling system.
    • Phase Failure: Ensure the power supply has all phases correctly connected (though this is a single-phase unit, internal phase detection might trigger if power quality is poor). Consult an electrician if this persists.
  • No Heating / Weak Heating:
    • Check if the induction coil is properly connected and not damaged.
    • Ensure the workpiece is correctly positioned within the coil.
    • Verify that 'Heat Power Adj' and 'Retain Power Adj' are set to appropriate levels.
    • Check for any active protection indicators.
  • Unusual Noise: Immediately stop operation and inspect the unit for loose components or internal issues. Contact support if the noise persists.

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact VEVOR customer support.

9. User Tips

  • Workpiece Size: For optimal heating, ensure the workpiece fits snugly within the induction coil without touching the coil walls.
  • Water Cooling is Key: Always prioritize the water cooling system. A stable and sufficient water flow is critical for preventing damage to the unit, especially during prolonged operations.
  • Parameter Adjustment: Start with lower power and time settings and gradually increase them to find the optimal parameters for your specific material and application.
  • Portability: The unit weighs 18 kg (40 lbs) and has dimensions of 55 x 22 x 47 cm (22 x 9 x 19 inch), making it relatively portable for its power class. Plan your workspace accordingly.
