Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to connect your UGREEN HDMI Splitter:
- Identify Ports: Locate the 'INPUT' and 'OUTPUT' ports on your HDMI splitter. The HDMI 2.1 model (CM561) has two 'INPUT' ports (INPUT1, INPUT2) and one 'OUTPUT' port. The HDMI 2.0 model (CM217) has two ports that can function as either input or output depending on the connection direction.
- Connect Source Devices (2 In 1 Out Mode):
- Connect your HDMI source devices (e.g., PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Laptop, TV Box) to the 'INPUT' ports of the splitter using HDMI cables.
- Connect the 'OUTPUT' port of the splitter to your display device (e.g., TV, Monitor, Projector) using an HDMI cable.
- Connect Source/Display Devices (1 In 2 Out Mode - CM217 only):
- Connect your single HDMI source device (e.g., Laptop) to one of the ports on the CM217 splitter.
- Connect the other two ports of the CM217 splitter to your two display devices (e.g., two monitors) using HDMI cables.
- Power Connection (CM561 HDMI 2.1 Model): The CM561 HDMI 2.1 model requires external power. Connect a USB-C power cable (not always included) to the USB-C port on the splitter and to a 5V power adapter (e.g., phone charger, TV USB port).
- Verify Connections: Ensure all HDMI cables are securely plugged into their respective ports on the splitter and devices.

Important Notes:
- Single Display Output: In 2 In 1 Out mode, only one input device can be displayed on the monitor at a time. Press the button to switch between inputs.
- Bidirectional Transmission: The HDMI 2.1 Switch (CM561) is designed for 2 In 1 Out functionality only. It does not support bidirectional transmission (1 In 2 Out). The HDMI 2.0 Switch (CM217) supports both 2 In 1 Out and 1 In 2 Out.
Maintenance
- Keep the device in a dry environment, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Troubleshooting
- No Signal / Black Screen:
-
- Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected.
- Check if the correct input source is selected on your display device (TV/Monitor).
- Press the switch button on the HDMI splitter to ensure the correct input is selected.
- For the CM561 (HDMI 2.1) model, ensure the USB-C power cable is connected and providing sufficient power.
- Try using shorter, high-quality HDMI cables, especially for 8K or 4K@144Hz resolutions, adhering to the cable length guidelines in the Setup section.
- Test with different HDMI cables or devices to isolate the issue.
- Flickering / Unstable Picture:
-
- Ensure your HDMI cables are rated for the resolution and refresh rate you are using (e.g., HDMI 2.1 cables for 8K@60Hz or 4K@144Hz).
- Reduce the resolution or refresh rate on your source device to see if the issue persists.
- Check for interference from other electronic devices.
- No Audio:
-
- Verify that your display or audio receiver is correctly configured to receive audio via HDMI.
- Check the audio settings on your source device.
- Ensure the HDMI cables are fully inserted.
- Does not support eARC:
-
- The UGREEN HDMI Splitter models CM561 and CM217 do not explicitly support eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel). They are designed for video and standard audio passthrough.
- Can I use it with 1440p 60Hz/120Hz?
-
- Yes, the splitter supports various resolutions and refresh rates. Since it supports 4K@144Hz and 1080P@240Hz, it should be compatible with 1440p at 60Hz or 120Hz, provided your source and display devices also support these modes.
User Tips
- For optimal performance with high-resolution content (8K/4K@144Hz), always use certified HDMI 2.1 cables of appropriate lengths.
- If you experience any issues, try restarting all connected devices and the splitter.
- When using the HDMI 2.1 switch (CM561), ensure it is powered via its USB-C port for stable operation, especially with demanding signals.
- Remember that the HDMI 2.1 switch (CM561) is strictly 2 In 1 Out. If you need 1 In 2 Out functionality, ensure you have the HDMI 2.0 switch (CM217).
