3.1. Fixed Code Duplicating Procedures
- While pressing button 1, press button 2 four times.
- Release both buttons. The LED will emit a quick flash every 2 seconds.
- Place the original remote control in front of the new SMG256 remote, at a distance of about 4-60 cm.
- Press and hold the button on the original remote control that you wish to copy. Continue holding until the SMG256 remote's LED changes its flashing frequency (becomes faster), confirming a successful code copy.
- While the LED is flashing, press the desired button on the SMG256 remote where you want to store the copied code, until the LED turns off.
- The copy has been applied successfully.
3.2. Rolling Code Duplicating Procedures
Continue holding until the SMG256 remote's LED turns on with a light and then emits a double flash every 2 seconds.
- Transmit the seed code of the original remote control. This is typically done by pressing a rear hide button or buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously on the new SMG256 remote.
- Once the LED flashes quickly, press the desired button on the SMG256 remote where you want to store the code, until the LED turns off.
- Activate the procedure to insert the new remote control on the receiver (e.g., garage door opener). Refer to the instructions of your original receiver for this step.
Note on Seed Code Emission:
The seed code can be emitted by:
- Pressing buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously for 8 seconds and releasing them when the LED starts to flash.
- While the LED is flashing, press the button with the seed code needed.
3.3. Auto Matching Code
- Ensure you are close to the automation system (e.g., garage door motor).
- Press and hold the programmed button on the SMG256 remote for about 10 seconds. When the LED starts to flash, release the button.
- Wait until the LED turns off. The operation is complete, and you can now use your new remote control.
- To activate other models on the receiver, refer to the instructions of your original model.

4. Operating Instructions
Once programmed, simply press the corresponding button on your SMG256 remote to activate the linked device (e.g., open/close garage door, operate gate). The remote offers an effective range of 10-100 meters in open space, depending on environmental factors and the receiver's capabilities.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
The SMG256 remote control uses a CR2032x1 battery. When the remote's range decreases or the LED indicator becomes dim, it's time to replace the battery. To replace:
- Locate the small screws on the back of the remote.
- Carefully remove the screws and open the casing.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the casing and secure it with the screws.

5.2. Cleaning
Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the casing or internal components.
5.3. Water Resistance
The SMG256 remote control is rated IPX6, meaning it is protected against strong jets of water. While it can withstand splashes and rain, it is not designed for submersion in water.

6. Troubleshooting
- LED not flashing during programming: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Repeat the button press sequence carefully.
- Copy not successful: Make sure the original remote is placed within the recommended distance (4-60 cm) from the SMG256. Try different distances within this range. Ensure the original remote is transmitting a strong signal.
- Rolling code not working after cloning: Remember that rolling codes often require an additional step to be registered with the receiver/motor. Refer to your original receiver's manual for instructions on how to add a new remote.
- Remote not responding: Check the battery. If the battery is new and the remote still doesn't respond, try re-programming it.

- Keep Instructions Handy: Many users find it helpful to keep a copy of the programming instructions readily available, especially for rolling code systems that may require re-pairing with the receiver.
- Test Range: Before relying on the remote, test its effective range in your specific environment, as obstacles can affect signal strength.
- Label Buttons: If you're cloning multiple remotes, consider labeling the buttons on your SMG256 to easily identify which button controls which device.
