6. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged.
- Battery: Recharge the battery regularly to maintain its lifespan, even if the device is not in frequent use.
- Laser Lens: Keep the laser emitting and receiving lenses clean for accurate measurements.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a Type-C USB charger and try again.
- Inaccurate wall scanning results: Ensure the device is held flat against the wall and moved slowly. Avoid scanning over highly reflective or uneven surfaces. Calibrate the device if available in the menu.
- Laser measurement errors: Ensure the laser lens is clean and unobstructed. Measure to a clear, non-reflective target. Environmental factors like strong light can affect accuracy.
- Wood moisture readings inconsistent (UT387S): Ensure probes are fully inserted into the wood. Test on a known dry piece of wood to verify functionality.
- No voice broadcast: Check the volume settings in the device's menu.
