1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your UGOOS X4 Series Smart TV Box. The UGOOS X4 series includes the X4 CUBE, X4 PRO, and X4 PLUS models, all powered by the Amlogic S905X4 Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A55 processor and running on Android 11. These devices are designed to deliver a high-quality 4K media experience.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Connecting the Device

  1. Attach the Wi-Fi Antenna: Screw the external Wi-Fi antenna into the designated port on the TV box.
  2. Connect to TV: Use the provided HDMI cable to connect the HDMI port on the TV box to an HDMI input port on your television.
  3. Connect to Network (Optional):
    • Wired: For a stable connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the TV box.
    • Wireless: If using Wi-Fi, ensure your router is powered on and within range. You will configure Wi-Fi settings during initial setup.
  4. Connect Peripherals (Optional): Insert USB devices (e.g., keyboard, mouse, external storage) into the available USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC 5V port on the TV box, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The device should power on automatically or can be turned on using the remote control.

3.2 Initial Setup

Upon first boot, the device will guide you through the initial setup process, including language selection, network configuration (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), and Google account login. Follow the on-screen prompts.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Remote Control

The included remote control allows you to navigate the Android interface, launch applications, control media playback, and adjust volume. Familiarize yourself with the buttons for power, navigation (directional pad and OK button), home, back, menu, volume, and media controls.

4.2 Network Configuration

To access online content, ensure your device is connected to the internet.

  • Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi, select your network, and enter the password. The device supports 2.4G & 5G Dual Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac).
  • Ethernet: If an Ethernet cable is connected, the device should automatically establish a wired connection.

4.3 Media Playback

The UGOOS X4 series supports 4K video playback at 60 frames per second and includes support for AV1 video coding format, HDR10+, HLG, and HDR10 for enhanced visual quality.

4.4 Storage Management

The device comes with internal eMMC storage (16GB, 32GB, or 64GB depending on model). You can expand storage using a TF card up to 64GB.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the device, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the surface or internal components.

5.2 Firmware Updates (OTA)

The UGOOS X4 series supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. The system will automatically notify you when new firmware versions are available and will update the device without manual intervention. This ensures your device always has the latest features and security patches.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet if necessary.
  • No Picture on TV: Check the HDMI cable connection between the TV box and your television. Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
  • No Internet Connection: Verify your Wi-Fi password or Ethernet cable connection. Restart your router and the TV box. Check network status in UGOOS Settings.
  • Remote Control Not Responding: Ensure the remote has fresh batteries. Point the remote directly at the TV box.
  • Applications Crashing/Freezing: Try restarting the TV box. If the issue persists, consider clearing the cache of the problematic application via Android settings.
