1. Introduction

The MECOOL KP1 Projector is a versatile home theater device designed to deliver a Full HD 1080P viewing experience. Featuring a 5-inch LCD screen, 700 ANSI Lumens brightness, and built-in Android 11 ATV OS with Google and Netflix certification (for KD5), it offers a smart and immersive entertainment solution. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your projector.

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the various parts and connections of your MECOOL KP1 Projector.

3.1 Front and Side View

• Projection Lens: The main lens for projecting the image. Comes with a protection cap.
• Focus Wheel: Located near the lens, used to manually adjust image sharpness.
• Cooling Vents: Ensure proper airflow for heat dissipation.
• Dust Filter: Removable for cleaning, located near the cooling vents.

3.2 Rear Panel

• Google Certified TV Stick Slot: For inserting the KD5 TV Stick.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for initial setup of your MECOOL KP1 Projector:

1. Unpack the Projector: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Position the Projector: Place the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the vents for airflow.
3. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the projector's power input and then into a wall outlet.
4. Remove Lens Cap: Remove the protection cap from the projection lens.
5. Adjust Height (Optional): Use the height adjustment wheel on the bottom of the projector to tilt the projection angle if needed.
6. Connect Input Sources (Optional):
   • HDMI: Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., laptop, gaming console) to one of the HDMI ports on the projector.
   • AV: Connect the AV cable to the AV port on the projector and your source device.
   • USB/TF Card: Insert a USB drive or TF card into the respective slots for media playback.
7. Insert KD5 TV Stick (if applicable): If you have the Google Certified KD5 TV Stick, insert it into its dedicated slot on the rear panel. The projector will supply power to the KD5, eliminating extra wiring.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button on the projector's top panel or the remote control to turn the device on or off.

5.2 Focus Adjustment

Rotate the focus wheel near the projection lens until the image on the screen appears sharp and clear.

5.3 Keystone Correction

The projector features 4D Keystone Correction to adjust the image shape. This allows you to correct distorted images (trapezoid effect) when the projector is not perfectly perpendicular to the screen.

• Vertical Correction: Adjusts the top and bottom edges of the image (up to ±50°).
• Horizontal Correction: Adjusts the left and right edges of the image (up to ±50°).

Navigate to the settings menu using the remote control to access and adjust the 4D Keystone settings.

5.4 Screen Size Adjustment (Digital Zoom)

You can adjust the projected screen size without moving the projector using the digital zoom feature. Access this setting through the projector's menu.

5.5 Android TV OS & Apps

The MECOOL KP1 comes with a built-in Android 11 ATV OS (when using the KD5 TV Stick), providing access to a wide range of applications including Netflix (4K version supported) and other streaming services. Navigate the interface using the remote control.

5.6 Google Assistant

Utilize the Google Assistant feature on your remote control for voice commands, searching for content, checking weather, and more.

5.7 Casting

The projector supports casting from compatible mobile devices, allowing you to mirror your phone's screen or cast content directly to the projector.

7.1 Dust Filter Cleaning

The projector has a removable dust filter to prevent dust accumulation inside the device. Regularly clean the dust filter to maintain proper cooling and image quality.

• Gently pull out the filter.
• Clean the filter using a soft brush or compressed air.
• Reinsert the filter securely.

7.2 General Care

• Keep the projector in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area.
• Avoid blocking the cooling vents during operation.
• Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth designed for optical surfaces.
• Do not expose the projector to extreme temperatures or humidity.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your projector, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

8.1 No Image or Distorted Image

• Check Power: Ensure the projector is properly connected to power and turned on.
• Input Source: Verify that the correct input source (HDMI, AV, USB, etc.) is selected.
• Focus Adjustment: Adjust the focus wheel until the image is clear.
• Keystone Correction: Use the 4D Keystone Correction settings to correct any trapezoidal distortion.
• Cable Connection: Ensure all video cables are securely connected.

8.2 Cannot Connect Mobile Phone (Casting)

• Wi-Fi/Bluetooth: Ensure both the projector and your mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or have Bluetooth enabled for casting.
• Casting App: Use a compatible casting application on your mobile device.
• Projector Settings: Check the projector's settings for screen mirroring or casting options.

8.3 Colors Stained or Screen Flickering

This could indicate a hardware issue. If you experience stained colors or a flickering screen, especially after a few months of use, please contact customer service for assistance as per the warranty policy.

• Optimal Viewing: For the best viewing experience, especially with 700 ANSI Lumens, use the projector in a dimly lit or dark room.

10. Warranty and Support

MECOOL offers a 2-year warranty for the KP1 Projector. For any product issues, please contact customer service with a video demonstrating the problem as soon as possible. Technical staff will verify the issue.

10.1 Warranty Policy

• If the product can be repaired, the seller covers repair costs and shipping, but the buyer is responsible for return shipping.
• If the product is verified to have an irreparable problem:
• Within 90 days of purchase: Product replacement or full refund.
• Within 180 days of purchase: Buyer pays shipping for product replacement.
• Within 360 days of purchase: 50% refund of the purchase amount (excluding shipping costs).
• Within 720 days of purchase: 25% refund of the purchase amount (excluding shipping costs).
• Important Note: Any damage resulting from unauthorized disassembly by the buyer will void the warranty, and the seller will not provide after-sales service.
