6. Maintenance

6.1. Soldering Tip Care

  • **Clean Regularly**: Always clean the tip with brass wool or a damp sponge before and after each soldering operation.
  • **Tinning**: After cleaning, apply a small amount of fresh solder to the tip (tinning). This protects the tip from oxidation and prolongs its lifespan.
  • **Storage**: When not in use for extended periods, ensure the tip is tinned before storing the iron in its stand.
  • **Tip Replacement**: Replace tips when they become excessively worn or corroded, as this will affect heat transfer and soldering quality. Refer to Figure 7 for tip dimensions and identification.

6.2. Station Cleaning

  • Ensure the station is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the station with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the connectors free from dust and debris.

6.3. Fuse Replacement

  • If the station does not power on, check the fuse located on the rear panel (refer to Figure 3).
  • Ensure the station is unplugged.
  • Carefully remove the fuse holder and replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating (F1.25A).
