5. Setup

5.1 Wiring Instructions

Before wiring, ensure the main power supply is turned off to prevent electric shock. The TH Elite supports both 1-channel AC load and dry contact connections.

Wiring diagrams for 1-channel AC load and dry contact, and quick start guide for eWeLink app

Figure 5: Wiring diagrams for 1-channel load and dry contact, and quick start steps.

5.1.1 1-Channel AC Load Wiring

  • Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) input wires from your power source to the "L In" and "N In" terminals respectively.
  • Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) output wires to your appliance (e.g., light, heater) to the "L Out" and "N Out" terminals respectively.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.

5.1.2 Dry Contact Wiring (Volt-Free)

The dry contact output acts as a switch, controlling the on/off state of a circuit without providing power. This is ideal for controlling traditional thermostats, combi boilers, or other systems that require a volt-free switch.

  • Identify the COM (Common), NC (Normally Closed), and NO (Normally Open) terminals on the TH Elite.
  • Connect the control wires from your external system to the appropriate COM and NO (or NC) terminals.
  • The output state of the normally open dry contact is consistent with the power relay. Separate control is not available.

5.2 Sensor Connection

The TH Elite features an upgraded RJ9 4P4C connector for stable and reliable sensor connections. It supports hot-plugging.

Different types of sensors for SONOFF TH Elite: Temp & Humi Sensor, Waterproof Temp Sensor, Soil Moisture Sensor, with RJ9 4P4C connector

Figure 6: Various sensors compatible with SONOFF TH Elite.

  • Temperature & Humidity Sensor (Si7021, AM2301): For monitoring ambient environment.
  • Waterproof Temperature Sensor (DS18B20/WTS01): For monitoring water temperature.
  • Soil Moisture Sensor (MS01): For monitoring soil moisture.
  • Plug the sensor into the RJ9 4P4C interface on the TH Elite.
  • For extended reach, use the RL560 sensor extension cable (up to 60M for Temp/Humi sensors, 10M for Soil Moisture Sensor).

5.3 App Download and Pairing

  1. Download the eWeLink app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Power on the TH Elite device after completing the wiring.
  3. Open the eWeLink app and follow the on-screen instructions for Bluetooth pairing or scan the QR code on the device/packaging for quick setup.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Real-time Monitoring

The TH Elite provides real-time temperature and humidity readings on its LCD screen and within the eWeLink app. The app refreshes data every 5 seconds.
