1. Introduction

The AUBESS WiFi Smart Switch is a compact module designed to convert traditional non-smart appliances and switches into intelligent, app-controlled devices. 3. Safety Information

  • Ensure power is OFF before installation or maintenance.
  • Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician.
  • Only works with mechanical rocker switches. Not suitable for electronic rocker switches.
  • A neutral wire is required for operation.
  • Only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load specified (16A for 1-Gang, 2x10A for 2-Gang).

4. Installation

The AUBESS WiFi Smart Switch is designed to be compact and can be placed behind existing wall switches or inside junction boxes.

4.1 Wiring Diagrams

Ensure power is disconnected before attempting any wiring. A neutral wire (N-in) is required for installation.

4.2 Physical Installation

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 App Pairing and Control

Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions for device pairing.

  1. Ensure the indicator light on the switch is flashing (usually by cycling power or holding a button).
  2. Open the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app and tap "Add Device".
  3. The app should automatically discover the device. Confirm to add it.
  4. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network credentials.
  5. Once added, you can control the switch directly from the app.

5.2 Voice Control

The AUBESS Smart Switch is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, and Yandex Alice. Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to your preferred voice assistant app.

  • Once linked, you can use voice commands such as: "Alexa, turn on the living room light" or "Hey Google, turn off the kitchen lights."

5.3 Timing and Scheduling

Set up countdowns, schedules, and random timers through the app to automate your lighting or appliances.

  • Countdown: Set a timer for the device to turn on or off after a specified duration.
  • Schedule: Program specific times for the device to turn on or off on selected days of the week.
  • Random: Create random on/off times within a set period to simulate occupancy.

5.4 Relay Status (Restart State)

You can configure the switch's behavior after a power outage:

  • OFF: The device will remain off after power is restored.
  • ON: The device will turn on after power is restored.
  • Remember Last Status: The device will return to its state before the power outage.

5.5 Group Control and Device Sharing

  • Group Control: Combine multiple smart switches into a group for simultaneous control (e.g., turn all living room lights on/off with one command).

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and dry.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates in the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • If the device is not functioning correctly, ensure all wiring connections are secure and power is supplied.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not pairing:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz networks are not supported.
    • Check if the indicator light on the switch is flashing, indicating pairing mode. If not, refer to the app's instructions on how to reset the device to pairing mode (often by cycling power or holding a button).
    • Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
    • Ensure the device is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • No response from voice assistant:
    • Confirm that your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is correctly linked to your voice assistant (Alexa, Google Home, Yandex Alice).
    • Check your internet connection.
    • Ensure the device name in the app is recognized by the voice assistant. Try simple names.
  • Physical switch not working after installation:
    • Double-check all wiring connections according to the diagrams in Section 4.1.
    • Ensure the physical switch is a mechanical rocker switch, not an electronic one.
  • Device frequently disconnects from Wi-Fi:
    • Improve Wi-Fi signal strength near the device.
    • Reduce interference from other 2.4GHz devices.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and provides good coverage to the installation location.
  • When setting up schedules, consider using the "Random" function for lights when you are away to enhance home security.
  • Utilize the group control feature to manage multiple lights or appliances in a room efficiently.
  • If using with a pushbutton toggle switch, ensure it is a mechanical type. This device is not designed for momentary switches that return to their original position after release.
  • This smart switch does not support dimmer functions; it is for on/off control only.
