6. Setup

6.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the analytical balance and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.

6.2 Placement

  • Place the balance on a firm, stable, and level surface, free from vibrations.
  • Ensure the location is free from drafts, direct sunlight, and rapid temperature changes, which can affect measurement accuracy.
  • Avoid placing the balance near equipment that generates strong electromagnetic fields.

6.3 Leveling the Balance

The balance is equipped with adjustable feet and a level bubble to ensure precise measurements.

  • Adjust the four feet at the bottom of the balance until the air bubble in the level indicator is centered.
  • This ensures the weighing pan is perfectly horizontal, which is crucial for accurate readings.

6.4 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cord to the balance and plug it into a suitable 110V or 220V power outlet. Ensure the voltage matches your local power supply.

6.5 Initial Power On

Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the balance. Allow a few minutes for the balance to warm up and stabilize before use, especially in environments with temperature fluctuations.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the ON/OFF button to turn the balance on or off.

7.2 Basic Weighing

  • Ensure the balance is level and stable.
  • Press TARE/ZERO to set the display to zero before placing any item.
  • Gently place the item to be weighed on the center of the stainless steel pan.
  • Wait for the reading to stabilize (indicated by a stable reading symbol on the display, typically within 3 seconds).
  • Read the weight displayed on the LCD screen.

7.3 Tare/Zero Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or to reset the scale to zero during a measurement.

  • Place an empty container on the weighing pan.
  • Press the TARE/ZERO button. The display will return to zero.
  • Add the item to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the item.

  • When not in use for extended periods, store the balance in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • Keep it away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • If possible, store it in its original packaging to protect it from physical damage.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your analytical balance, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power:
    • Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the balance and the power outlet.
    • Ensure the power outlet is functional.
  • Unstable Readings:
    • Verify that the balance is placed on a stable, level surface and the level bubble is centered.
    • Ensure there are no drafts, vibrations, or air currents affecting the weighing pan.
    • Check for any objects touching the weighing pan or the balance itself.
    • Recalibrate the balance.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Perform a calibration using the provided calibration weight.
    • Ensure the balance is clean and free from debris.
    • Check for environmental factors (temperature, humidity, electromagnetic interference).
  • Overload Warning:
    • If the display shows an 'OL' or similar overload indicator, remove the item immediately. The weight exceeds the maximum capacity of the scale.
  • Fault Codes:
    • The balance may display specific fault codes (e.g., 'Err 1', 'Err 2') for internal issues. Refer to the full product manual or contact customer support for detailed explanations and solutions for specific codes.

10. User Tips

  • Regular Calibration: To maintain the highest level of accuracy, perform calibration regularly, especially if the balance has been moved or subjected to temperature changes.
  • Stable Surface is Key: Always ensure the scale is on a perfectly level and stable surface. Even minor wobbles can significantly impact precision.
  • Utilize Tare Function: For measuring the net weight of substances in containers, make full use of the tare function to zero out the container's weight.
  • Warm-up Time: Allow the balance a few minutes to warm up after powering on, particularly in cooler environments, to ensure stable and accurate readings.
