Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts (receives power from the car charger).
- It will automatically power off when the vehicle is turned off (power supply is cut).
- To manually power on/off, press and hold the Power Button.
2. Recording Modes
- Normal Recording: Automatically starts when the device powers on. Footage is saved in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) and overwritten by new recordings when the memory card is full (Loop Recording).
- Emergency Recording (G-Sensor): In case of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten. You can also manually lock a recording by pressing the Lock Button.

3. Display Modes
- If a rear camera is connected, you can switch between front camera view, rear camera view, and picture-in-picture display modes using the Mode Button or specific menu options.
4. 24-Hour Parking Surveillance (Requires Hardwire Kit, not included)
- When properly set up with a hardwire kit, the dash cam can monitor your vehicle even when parked.
- The G-sensor will detect impacts or vibrations and automatically record short video clips.
- Upon restarting your car, the dash cam will alert you if any emergency parking videos were recorded.

5. HDR Function
- The High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature helps capture clearer video in challenging lighting conditions, such as entering or exiting tunnels, or driving against bright sunlight. It balances exposure to prevent overexposed bright areas and underexposed dark areas.

6. GPS Tracking (Optional)
- With the optional GPS module, the dash cam records your driving route and speed. This data can be viewed using a dedicated player on a computer, providing crucial information for accident reconstruction or trip logging.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Device

- For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
2. Memory Card Management
- Regularly format your microSD card (e.g., once a month) to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth recording.
- Replace the memory card if you notice frequent errors or degraded performance.
3. Firmware Updates
- Check the official ThiEYE website periodically for firmware updates. Updates can improve performance, add features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam does not power on: Ensure the car charger is properly connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power outlet. Check if the vehicle's power outlet is functioning.
- Recording stops unexpectedly: Format the memory card. Ensure the memory card is Class 10 or UHS-1 and not full. Replace the memory card if the issue persists.
- Video footage is blurry or unclear: Clean the camera lens. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lens. Check if the dash cam is securely mounted and not vibrating.
- G-sensor is too sensitive/not sensitive enough: Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity setting in the dash cam menu.
