4. Installation and Wiring
Follow these three easy steps for proper installation and wiring of your DALY Smart BMS:
- Solder the sampling cables: The first cable in black in the sampling cable set is connected to the total negative terminal of the battery (B-). The second cable (red) is connected to the positive terminal of the first string of batteries. The third cable (red) is connected to the positive terminal of the second string of batteries, and so on, until all cables are connected to their respective positive terminals of each battery string.
- Check the cables: After connecting the cables, measure the voltage between two adjacent cells starting from the header to ensure there are no wrong connections or missing connections.
- Connect the output wires: Connect the B- wire of the BMS to the total negative terminal of the battery pack, and then plug the sampling cable to the BMS. After activating the BMS, ensure that the voltage (battery voltage) between B+ & B- and the voltage between P+ & P- are consistent.

Communication Functions and Accessories:
The BMS supports dual UART communication interfaces and rich expansion applications. Optional accessories like RS485, UART, CAN, Bluetooth, WiFi module, various display screens (4.3-inch touch screen, 3-inch display), square power light panel, circular battery light panel, heating module, and buzzer can be connected.

5. Operating Instructions
BMS Activation:
The BMS is automatically activated when used for the first time. If the BMS enters a dormant state, it can be activated using one of the following four methods:
- Use a key switch.
- Press buttons on the Bluetooth module or SOC indicator.
- Connect to the Mobile APP using CAN/RS485 communication or Bluetooth.
- Charge or discharge the battery.
Before activation, ensure the BMS, cables, battery, and NTC are connected correctly.

Smart Monitoring and Management:
The DALY Smart BMS offers advanced monitoring and management through its self-developed mobile application and PC software.
Mobile APP:
The 'SMART BMS' app acts as your personal lithium battery steward, providing various data at a glance. It supports iOS and Android systems, automatically switches with the system language, and allows for local remote monitoring.

PC Software:
With a communication cable (UART/RS485/CAN) connected to a PC, the upgraded version of the PC software provides extensive management rights. Users can perform hierarchical management and program upgrades for the BMS.

DALY Cloud - Lithium Battery IOT Platform:
DALY's official IOT platform enables remote and batch intelligent management of BMS units. Battery data is saved in the cloud, and multi-level sub-accounts can be opened. The BMS can be remotely upgraded through the APP + DALY Cloud.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your DALY Smart BMS.
Common Issues & Solutions:
- BMS not activating: Ensure all connections (BMS, cables, battery, NTC) are correct. Try activating using a key switch, pressing buttons on the Bluetooth module/SOC indicator, connecting via APP, or charging/discharging the battery.
- Inconsistent voltage readings: Double-check all sampling cable connections to ensure they are correctly soldered to each battery string's positive terminal. Verify no cables are missing or incorrectly connected.
- Communication issues with APP/PC: Ensure the correct communication module (Bluetooth, UART, RS485, CAN) is properly connected and functioning. Verify software/app settings and permissions.
- Overcurrent/Overvoltage/Over-discharge protection triggering: Review your battery pack's specifications and the BMS settings in the app/PC software. Ensure the parameters are correctly configured for your battery type and usage. Reduce load or adjust charging parameters if necessary.
- High temperature: Ensure adequate ventilation around the BMS. Check for any obstructions to the cooling fan (if present). Verify that the current draw is within the BMS's rated capacity.
