4. Installation Guide

Installation of the headunit requires technical expertise. It is highly recommended to have the product installed by a qualified professional at a car service store to prevent damage to the device or your vehicle. Incorrect installation may void your warranty.

4.1 Pre-Installation Check

  • Ensure your vehicle is an Audi A3 8P, S3, or RS3 model manufactured between 2003 and 2012.

  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting installation.

4.2 General Installation Steps (Consult a professional)

  1. Carefully remove the original car radio/headunit from the dashboard.

4.3 Rear Camera Connection

If installing an optional AHD reversing camera, follow these wiring instructions:

  • Red cable ①: Connect to the backup light's positive (+) terminal.
  • Black cable ②: Connect to the backup light's negative (-) terminal.
  • Reversing detection cable ③ (Brown color): Connect to the red cable ④, which extends from the video input cable.
  • Cable ⑤: This cable does not require connection.

4.4 4G SIM Card Installation (H3, H4, H5 models only)

For models with built-in 4G, locate the SIM card slot on the unit and insert your 4G SIM card. This allows for direct internet connectivity without relying on a phone hotspot.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Setup and Main Menu

Upon first power-on, the system will boot into the Android operating system. The main menu provides access to various functions like Navigation, Bluetooth, Radio, Music, Video, Car Settings, and Apps.

5.2 Changing Main Menu Theme (M90S)

The M90S model offers 12 different main menu themes. To change the theme:

  1. Find the "Theme" icon on the main screen.
  2. Enter the theme interface and select your desired theme.

5.3 CarPlay and Android Auto (H3, H4, H5 models)

These models feature built-in CarPlay (for iOS) and Android Auto. No additional accessories are needed.

5.3.1 Wireless CarPlay (iOS System)

  1. Connect your iPhone via Bluetooth.
  2. Click on "ZLINK" app on the headunit.
  3. Wait for the connection to establish.

5.3.2 USB Cable for Android Auto

  1. Connect your Android phone to the headunit using a USB cable.
  2. Click on "ZLINK" app on the headunit.
  3. Wait for the connection to establish.

5.4 Audio Settings (32EQ/DSP Processor - H3, H4, H5 models)

Models with the built-in 32EQ/DSP processor allow for advanced audio customization. Access the DSP settings to adjust multi-dimensional surround sound effects and equalizer presets for a high-definition audio experience.

5.5 Radio Operation (FM/AM RDS Radio)

The headunit supports automatic and manual search for FM/AM radio stations. You can drag station icons to customize your channel list. Note: H1 and H2 models only support FM radio.

5.6 Split Screen Functionality

5.7 Language Settings

The headunit supports multiple OSD (On-Screen Display) languages. To change the language:

  1. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Languages & input".
  2. Select "Languages" and then "Add a language" to choose your preferred language.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Display

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

6.3 General Care
