4. Setup and Installation
4.1. POE Installation Overview
The Gadinan NVR system utilizes Power over Ethernet (POE) technology, simplifying installation significantly. A single Cat5e Ethernet cable connects each IP camera to the NVR, transmitting both data and power. This eliminates the need for separate power cables, adapters, or POE switches, reducing complexity and cost.

4.2. NVR Back Panel Connections
Connect your cameras to the POE ports on the NVR. Connect a monitor via HDMI or VGA, and a mouse to a USB port for local control. The NVR also has an Audio Out port.

4.3. Network Connection Diagram
For remote access and network features, connect the NVR to your router using an Ethernet cable. Ensure your router has internet access.

5. Operation
5.1. Local NVR Interface
After connecting the NVR to a monitor and mouse, you can navigate the system settings and view live feeds directly. The NVR supports multiple languages.

5.2. Remote Access via PC (CMS Software)
To view your surveillance system from a PC, install the CMS (Central Management Software) for Windows or VMS for Mac. This software is typically provided on a CD or can be downloaded online (contact support for download links).
- Install the CMS software on your computer.
- Launch the CMS software. You may be prompted to log in.
- In the Device Manager, search for and add your NVR using its IP address or Serial ID.
- Once added, you can view live feeds and manage settings.

To find your NVR's Serial ID (important for remote access):

5.3. Remote Access via Web Browser
You can access your NVR system through a web browser by visiting www.xmeye.net or by directly entering the NVR's local IP address (default: 192.168.1.10) into your browser.

5.4. Remote Access via Smartphone App (XMEye)
The XMEye app allows you to view your cameras remotely from your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.
- Download the "XMEye" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the app and register an account if you don't have one.
- Add your NVR device by scanning the QR code (found in NVR System Info) or manually entering the Serial ID.
- Once added, you can view live video, playback recordings, and receive alerts.

5.5. Video Playback
The system supports smart playback, allowing you to quickly review recorded footage. You can customize searching areas to speed up the review process by skipping unimportant video segments.

5.6. NVR Setup and Live View Video Demonstration
6. Key Features
6.1. H.265+ Video Compression
The system utilizes H.265+ video compression technology, which significantly reduces video file sizes without compromising quality. This results in substantial savings in hard drive space and network bandwidth compared to older H.264 compression.

6.2. Motion Detection & Alarm Alerts
The system supports smart motion detection. When motion is detected, the camera can trigger an alarm message to your smartphone app or send a photo to your email, allowing for timely review of events.

6.3. Audio Recording
Each camera is equipped with a built-in microphone, enabling audio recording alongside video. This provides authentic sound recording of the surrounding environment. Please note that this system does not support two-way audio communication.

6.4. Smart IR-Cut Night Vision
The cameras feature a smart IR-Cut filter that automatically switches between day and night modes. This ensures clear, vivid surveillance footage by reducing color cast during the day and enhancing image brightness at night, with an IR distance of up to 25 meters.

7. Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check for NVR and camera firmware updates regularly. Updates can improve performance, add features, and enhance security. Refer to the manufacturer's website or contact support for the latest firmware.
- Cable Management: Ensure all cables are securely connected and protected from environmental damage.
- Hard Drive Health: If an HDD is installed, monitor its health through the NVR interface to prevent data loss.
- Environmental Protection: While cameras are IP66 waterproof, extreme weather conditions can still affect performance. Ensure proper installation to minimize exposure to harsh elements.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1. No Video Display
- Check Power: Ensure the NVR is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
- Monitor Connection: Verify that the HDMI or VGA cable is correctly connected between the NVR and the monitor.
- Camera Connection: For POE cameras, ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the camera and the NVR's POE port. Check for any damage to the cable.
- NVR Channel Status: Access the NVR interface and check the status of each camera channel. If a channel shows 'NoConfig' or 'Offline', try re-adding the camera or checking its network settings.
8.2. Cannot Access Remotely (PC/App)
- Network Connection: Ensure the NVR is connected to your router and has internet access. Check your router's internet connection.
- App/Software Login: Double-check your login credentials for the XMEye app or CMS software.
- Device Added Correctly: Verify that the NVR was added correctly to the app/software using the correct Serial ID or IP address.
- Firewall/Router Settings: Your router's firewall or network settings might be blocking access. Ensure necessary ports are open or UPnP is enabled (if supported and configured).
8.3. Motion Detection Not Working
- Enable Motion Detection: Ensure motion detection is enabled for the specific camera channels in the NVR settings.
- Configure Motion Zones: Adjust the sensitivity and threshold of motion detection zones to suit your environment.
- Check Alert Settings: Verify that email alerts or app push notifications are correctly configured in the NVR's alarm settings.
