5. Setup & Installation

5.1. Mechanical Installation

  1. Ensure the motor is correctly inserted into a 38mm diameter tube.
  2. Mount the tube with the motor into your window covering system using appropriate brackets.
  3. Connect the power line to the motor.

5.2. App Download and Connection

  1. Download the "TuyaSmart" app by scanning the QR code below or searching in your app store.
  2. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.

5.3. Matching with Tuya App

  1. After the motor is powered on, press and hold the P1 (setting button) on the motor for eight seconds. The motor will rotate three times, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. Open the "Tuya Smart" app and click on the top right "+" icon to add a device.
  3. Wait for the "smart device" (GERWIN MOTOR) to pop up, and then click "Go to add".

  1. Select your home WiFi network and confirm the password.
  2. Wait for the connection process to complete.
  3. Once the device is added successfully, click "Done".

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. RF433 Remote Control Operations (if applicable)

These instructions apply if you have an RF433 remote control (e.g., Dooya DC2702).

  1. Programming (Code Matching): Power on the motor within 10 seconds, or press the motor P1 key once. Then, press P2 on the remote twice, then press P2 once, then press the UP key once. The motor will respond, indicating successful code matching.
  2. Limit Setting: Press P2 once to enter limit settings mode. Press the UP key once and run the curtain to the desired upstroke location. Press and hold the STOP key for three seconds to set the upstroke point. Press the DOWN key once and run the curtain to the desired down limit location. Press and hold the STOP key for three seconds to set the down limit. Limit setting is complete.
  3. Delete Limit: Press P2 once, then press the DOWN key once, then press P2 once. This will delete the limit settings.
  4. Add Emitter (Remote): Press P2 key of existing coded transmitter "A" twice. Then press P2 key of new transmitter "B" once. "B" emitter is added.
  5. Delete Emitter (Remote): Press P2 key of existing coded transmitter "A" twice. Then press P2 key of transmitter "B" once. Transmitter "B" deletion is complete. To delete all transmitters, press P2 key of coded transmitter once, then press the STOP key of coded transmitter once, then press P2 key of coded transmitter once. All transmitters are deleted.
  6. Deadman Mode: Press P2 once, then press the UP key once, then press the DOWN key once.

6.2. Tuya App Control

  1. Limit Setting via App: Enter the "Tuya Smart" App. Find the matched curtain in the interface. Click "Set up". Click "Limit Setting" and return to the previous page. Note: If limits are already set, you can ignore this step. If it is opened again, the original trip will be deleted.
  2. Operating Blinds: Use the "Open", "Stop", and "Close" buttons within the app interface to control the curtain movement. Click "Open" to make the curtain run to the desired position, then click "Stop". Similarly, click "Close" to run the curtain to the desired position, then click "Stop".

6.3. Voice Control (Alexa/Google Home)

Once the motor is successfully paired with the Tuya Smart app, you can link your Tuya account to Alexa or Google Home for voice control. Refer to the respective voice assistant's app for detailed linking instructions.

6.4. Advanced Settings

  1. Restore Factory Setting: Long press the stroke key (P1 button) for 11 seconds. The motor will rotate four times, and then restore to the factory settings.
  2. Speed Adjust: At the same time, press the UP key and STOP key (on the remote, or equivalent in app if available). The motor will sound twice, and the motor speed will increase. To decrease speed, press and hold down the DOWN key and STOP key simultaneously. The motor will sound twice, and the motor speed will decrease.

7. User Tips

  • The 1.1/28 version of the motor operates at 28 rounds per minute and is slightly quieter than the 1.1/34 version, which operates at 34 rounds per minute. Both versions offer the same functionality.
  • This motor is specifically designed to work with a 38mm diameter tube. Ensure your existing or new tube matches this specification for proper installation.
  • For optimal smart home integration, ensure your WiFi network is stable and operating on the 2.4GHz frequency during the pairing process.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Motor not responding to remote/app: Check power connection. Ensure the motor is correctly paired with the app and/or remote. Try restoring factory settings and re-pairing if issues persist.
  • Motor not moving to correct limits: Re-perform the limit setting procedure via the app or remote control.
  • App connection issues: Verify your phone is on a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Ensure the motor is within range of your WiFi router. Restart the motor and your router, then attempt re-pairing.
  • Voice control not working: Confirm that your Tuya account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Home. Check the device status in the Tuya app.

9. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect the motor and associated components for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Keep the motor free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not lubricate the motor or internal components unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Ensure the power cable is not pinched or damaged.
