6. Operating Instructions
The M-VAVE DIG DELAY offers 9 distinct delay effects. Experiment with the TIME and FEEDBACK knobs to sculpt your desired sound for each mode.
6.1 Engaging the Effect
Press the TRUE BYPASS footswitch to toggle the effect on or off. The LED indicator will light up when the effect is active.
6.2 Selecting Delay Modes
Rotate the central Mode Selector knob to choose from the following 9 delay effects:
- CLEAN: A pristine, clear digital delay.
- BUBBLE: A unique, bubbly, modulated delay sound.
- MOD: Delay with modulation for a swirling, chorus-like texture.
- REVERSE (RVS): Plays the delayed signal in reverse.
- SWEEP ECHO (SWP): A delay with a sweeping filter effect.
- TAPE: Emulates the warm, slightly degraded sound of vintage tape delays.
- MIC: A distinctive delay effect, possibly simulating a microphone feedback or specific ambiance.
- ANALOG (ANA): Recreates the darker, decaying repeats of analog delays.
- LOFI: A low-fidelity delay, adding grit and character to the repeats.
6.3 Adjusting Delay Parameters
- TIME Knob: Turn clockwise to increase the delay time (the interval between repeats). Turn counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- FEEDBACK Knob: Turn clockwise to increase the number of repeats, creating longer, more sustained echoes. Turn counter-clockwise for fewer, shorter repeats.
7. Maintenance
- Clean the pedal with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the pedal away from dust and dirt.
- Store the pedal in a dry environment when not in use.
- Regularly check all cable connections for wear and tear.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound when pedal is on. | Incorrect power supply; faulty cables; incorrect connections; amplifier off. | Check power adapter (DC 9V, negative center); replace cables; ensure correct IN/OUT connections; turn on amplifier. |
| No effect, but dry signal passes through. | Pedal is in bypass mode; effect level (if applicable) is too low. | Press the footswitch to engage the effect (LED should light up); ensure TIME and FEEDBACK knobs are not at minimum. |
| Unwanted noise or hum. | Ground loop; faulty power supply; interference from other electronics. | Use an isolated power supply; try a different power outlet; move pedal away from other electronic devices. |

10. User Tips
- Experiment with Modes: Don't stick to just one delay type. Each of the 9 modes offers a unique sonic character. Try them all to find what best suits your playing style and musical context.
- Subtle vs. Extreme: The TIME and FEEDBACK knobs allow for a wide range of delay effects. Use subtle settings for ambient textures or turn them up for dramatic, psychedelic sounds.
- Placement in Signal Chain: Delay pedals typically sound best placed after overdrive/distortion pedals and before modulation effects like chorus or flanger, but feel free to experiment with placement to discover new sounds.
