6. Operating Instructions
6.1 FX39 Fusion Splicer Operation

6.2 QX50-S OTDR Operation
- Connect Fiber: Connect the fiber to be tested to the OTDR's optical connector (FC/UPC).
- Select Test Parameters: On the color touch screen, select the desired wavelength (1310nm or 1550nm), distance range, and pulse width.
- Start Measurement: Initiate the measurement. The OTDR will display the trace, showing events like splices, connectors, and fiber breaks.
- Analyze Results: Use the on-screen tools or transfer data to PC software for detailed analysis of events, loss, and distance.
6.3 KPM-25V OPM & KLS-25M OLS Operation
- Power Measurement (OPM): Connect the fiber from the light source to the KPM-25V OPM. Select the appropriate wavelength on the OPM to match the light source. The OPM will display the optical power in dBm or uW.
- Light Source (OLS): Power on the KLS-25M. Select the desired wavelength (1310nm or 1550nm) and modulation frequency if needed. Connect to the fiber under test.
