3. Charging
The AR-63 supports Type-C charging. You can charge the radio using a Type-C cable directly or via a charging base (if included with your package). Connect the Type-C cable to the charging port on the side of the radio and to a compatible USB power source.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
To power on the walkie talkie, rotate the metal knurled knob on the top of the device clockwise. Continue rotating to adjust the volume. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.

2. Wireless Copy Frequency (Anti-Code Breaking Function)
The AR-63 features a wireless frequency copy function, also referred to as an anti-code breaking function, allowing it to replicate frequencies from another walkie talkie without PC programming.
- **Enter Wireless Replication Mode**: With the AR-63 powered off, press and hold the [PTT] button (Push-To-Talk) and the [UpKey] button simultaneously. While holding these buttons, turn on the walkie talkie.
- **Release Buttons**: When you observe the traffic light indicator on the AR-63, release both buttons. The radio is now in wireless replication mode.
- **Receive Frequency**: Have the target walkie talkie transmit a signal. The AR-63 will receive the signal, and its red indicator light will change to green.
- **Confirmation**: A "beep" prompt will sound, indicating that the frequency matching for the current channel is completed and the decoded data has been saved. All data for channels 1-16 will be transmitted to the AR-63 in this mode.
- **Exit Mode**: If no further wireless copying is needed, turn off and then on your AR-63 to restart it in normal operation mode. If you need to copy more frequencies, press the PTT button again to repeat the process.

3. VOX Function
The Voice Operated Exchange (VOX) function allows for hands-free operation. When VOX is enabled, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on enabling and adjusting VOX sensitivity levels.
4. SOS Function
The AR-63 includes an SOS function for emergency situations. When activated, the radio will emit an alarm signal to alert others. Consult the full user manual for specific button combinations or menu options to activate the SOS feature.
5. Scan Function
The scan function allows the radio to automatically sweep through programmed channels to detect active transmissions. This is useful for monitoring multiple channels without manually switching between them. The radio also supports Prior Channel Scanning.
6. CTCSS/DCS
Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System (CTCSS) and Digital Coded Squelch (DCS) are sub-audible tones used to filter out unwanted transmissions. When enabled, your radio will only open its squelch and receive audio when a signal with the matching CTCSS/DCS tone is detected.
7. DTMF Encoding/Decoding
Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) allows for sending and receiving tone signals, often used for remote control applications or selective calling in advanced radio systems.
Programming
1. PC Programming
The ABBREE AR-63 can be programmed using computer software for advanced customization of frequencies, tones, and other settings. A programming cable (not included with all packages) is required.
- **Connect Cable**: Connect the programming cable (USB to 2-pin jack) to your computer's USB port and to the programming port on the walkie talkie.
- **Power On Radio**: Turn on the AR-63 walkie talkie.
- **Open Software**: Launch the programming software on your computer.
- **Select COM Port**: In the software, navigate to the communication port settings and select the correct COM port corresponding to your programming cable.
- **Read/Write Frequency**: Use the software to read the current frequency data from the radio, make desired modifications, and then write the new frequency data back to the radio.

2. Manual Programming
While the AR-63 does not have a display for direct frequency input, many settings such as VOX, squelch, and power save levels can be adjusted manually through specific button combinations or voice prompts. Refer to the comprehensive user manual for detailed instructions on manual programming options.
Maintenance
- **Cleaning**: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- **Battery Care**:
- Charge the battery fully before first use.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not dispose of the battery in fire.
- Use only designated chargers.
- If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery.
- **Storage**: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- **Water Resistance**: The AR-63 has an IP45 rating, meaning it is protected against water jets from any direction. However, it is not designed for submersion. Avoid exposing it to heavy rain or dropping it in water.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| No Power |

User Tips
- **Range Optimization**: For best range, ensure the antenna is securely attached and avoid obstructions. High power (5W) setting can extend range but consumes more battery.
- **Battery Life**: To maximize battery life, utilize the battery save function.
- **Clear Communication**: The iron mesh speaker design helps eliminate impurities and protect speakers, contributing to high fidelity sound quality and 9-level intelligent noise reduction.
