1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of your Dooya DM45RQ or DM45Q Silent Fast Rolling Tubular Motor. These motors are designed for use with rolling blinds and canopies, offering quiet and efficient operation.

2. Product Variants
The Dooya DM45 series tubular motors come in two main variants:
- DM45RQ 6/28 (Radio Tubular Motor):
This model features a built-in RF433 receiver and uses a 3-wire connection. It is compatible with Dooya RF433 remote controllers (e.g., DC2700, DC1650) and RF433 wall switches. - DM45Q 6/28 (Quiet Tubular Motor):
This is a 4-wire motor without a built-in RF433 module. It is designed to work with wired wall switches such as DC227A, DC228A, and Tuya WiFi curtain wall switches. It can also be controlled via a remote controller if paired with an external receiver.
3. Package Contents
Your package should contain the following items:
- 1 x Tubular Motor (DM45RQ 6/28 or DM45Q 6/28, based on your selection)
- 1 x Crown
- 1 x Drive Adapter
Note: The specific crown and drive adapter provided will be selected based on the type of rolling tube you intend to use with the motor.
4. Accessories and Tube Compatibility
Proper selection of the crown and drive adapter is crucial for correct motor function with your rolling tube. Different tube types have varying inner structures, even if their outer diameter is the same.
4.1. Important Considerations for Crown and Drive Adapters
- For rolling tubes with the same outer diameter, there are many different inner structures across various regions. We provide crowns and drive adapters from Dooya's original package for specific tube types. Please verify compatibility before installation.
- In some cases, you may need to modify the provided crown and drive adapter to ensure they work correctly with your specific tube.
- Some users successfully create custom crowns and drive adapters using 3D printing.
- Alternatively, you may need to source compatible crowns and drive adapters from your local market.
- If your existing crown and drive adapter are still functional and compatible, reusing them is often the best option.
4.2. Compatible Tube Types and Accessories
The DM45 tubular motor is compatible with various tube types. Below are examples of crowns and drive adapters for common tube sizes:

6. Installation and Setup
6.1. General Safety Precautions
- Ensure power is disconnected before performing any installation or wiring.
- Installation should be performed by a qualified professional if you are unsure.
- Do not immerse the motor in water or drill into the motor casing.
- Avoid striking the motor with hard objects.

6.2. Crown and Drive Adapter Installation
Install the crown and drive adapter onto the motor shaft as shown in the diagram. Ensure they are securely fitted. Forbidden to drill through crown and inner gear wheel.

6.3. Bracket Installation
Mount the motor using the appropriate brackets for your installation type (A or B). Ensure the brackets are firmly secured to the mounting surface.

6.4. Circuit Installation (Wiring)
Connect the motor to the AC power supply according to the wiring diagrams below. Ensure all connections are secure and match the voltage and frequency specified on the product nameplate (230V/50Hz or 120V/60Hz).
6.4.1. DM45RQ/DM45Q General Wiring (3-wire/4-wire)

6.4.2. External Motor Wiring (4-wire)

6.4.3. Built-in Motor Wiring (3-wire)

6.5. Programming the First Transmitter (DM45RQ only)
The DM45RQ motor requires programming with a transmitter (remote control) to function wirelessly. There are two methods:

Method 1 (Up Limit Control): Switch off power for >10s, then switch on for <4s. Press the P2 button on the transmitter twice (motor beeps twice). Press the UP button (motor beeps several times). OK, Up limit control is set.
Method 2 (Down Limit Control): Switch off power for >10s, then switch on for <4s. Press the P2 button on the transmitter twice (motor beeps twice). Press the DOWN button (motor beeps several times). OK, Down limit control is set.
Note: The interval of re-switch must be within 4 seconds of re-setting, otherwise the system will restore the original state. Deleting all data of the motor and programming a new emitter will restore the original state.
6.6. Limit Setting (Up and Down)
Set the upper and lower travel limits for your blinds or canopy using the special regulator on the motor head and your emitter/switch.

6.7. Additional Functions
6.7.1. Dot-move Setting

6.7.2. Add Emitter

6.7.3. Cancel Emitter

7. Operation
Once installed and configured, operate your Dooya tubular motor using the paired remote control or wall switch.
- DM45RQ: Use the RF433 remote controller or wall switch to send commands (Up, Down, Stop).
- DM45Q: Use the wired wall switch (e.g., DC227A, DC228A) or a compatible Tuya WiFi curtain wall switch. If an external receiver is installed, it can also be controlled by a remote.

8. Maintenance
The Dooya tubular motors are designed for low maintenance. Regular checks include:
- Ensure the motor and wiring are free from obstructions and damage.
- Keep the motor area clean and free of dust.
- Periodically check that the blinds or canopy operate smoothly within their set limits.
No user-serviceable parts are inside the motor casing. Do not attempt to open or repair the motor yourself.
9. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions:

| Fall-phenomena | Failure Causes | Solutions Failure Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Switch on, the drive adapter runs in one-way operation | Inside limit switch of motor doesn't open | Crown running one circle in the opposite direction of the drive adapter, then it works |
| Motor starts slowly or not work after connect power | a. Power voltage is slow b. Wiring error c. Overload d. Improper installation | a. Adjust power to rated data b. Check circuit and correct wiring connecting c. Rated torque associated with the installation of the load d. Re-install the motor |
| Motor stops suddenly after running | Motor stops suddenly after running | Motor will automatically resume work after 20 minutes cooling |
| Abnormal sound during roller blinds in operation | Outer tube is too long, led the rolling shutter connects with both sides of bracket; too tightly | If idler is active, properly make the tube shorter to avoid too tight status. |
10. User Tips
- When selecting a motor, consider whether you need RF433 wireless control (DM45RQ) or prefer wired control with potential for external smart home integration (DM45Q).
- Always double-check the compatibility of your rolling tube with the provided crown and drive adapter. Modifications or sourcing local parts might be necessary.
- For optimal performance and longevity, ensure the motor is installed correctly and the limits are set accurately.
- If you experience any issues, consult the troubleshooting guide before attempting any repairs.
