7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Common Issues & Solutions
- Cannot connect to the app / Smart Life:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The camera does not support 5G Wi-Fi.
- Verify that the camera is powered on and within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Restart the camera and your mobile device, then try connecting again.
- Make sure you are using the correct app (Tuya Smart or Smart Life).
- Camera shows "no storage device":
- Ensure a TF (Micro SD) card is properly inserted.
- The TF card must be formatted to FAT32.
- If already inserted, remove the TF card and reinsert it firmly.
- Try a different TF card to rule out a faulty card.
- Motion detection not working:
- Check the motion detection settings within the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app. Ensure it is enabled and sensitivity levels are adjusted appropriately.
- Verify that the camera has a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor.
- Camera only works with Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth or mobile data:
- This camera is designed for Wi-Fi connectivity (2.4GHz) or AP Hotspot mode for direct local connection. It does not support Bluetooth or direct mobile data connections.
- Battery life is short:
- Ensure the camera is fully charged before use.
- Frequent motion detection alerts, continuous recording, or live viewing can consume battery faster.
- Consider keeping the camera connected to a power source (USB) for continuous operation.
8. User Tips
- Always use a FAT32 formatted memory card for optimal performance and compatibility.
- For stable connectivity, ensure your Wi-Fi network is set to 2.4GHz, as the camera does not support 5G Wi-Fi.
- Regularly check the app settings to customize motion detection and notification preferences to suit your needs.
- While the camera has a built-in battery, connecting it to a continuous USB power source is recommended for uninterrupted monitoring.
