5.5. Loop Recording

Loop recording ensures your memory card never runs out of space by overwriting older footage.

5.6. HDR Function

High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology helps the dash cam capture clearer images in challenging lighting conditions, such as tunnels or bright sunlight. It balances exposure to reveal details in both dark and bright areas of the scene.

6.2. Memory Card Care

  • Use only high-quality Class 10 or UHS-1 MicroSD/TF cards from reputable brands.
  • Avoid removing the memory card while the device is powered on or recording to prevent data loss or card damage.

6.3. Environmental Conditions

  • Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for extended periods.
  • Keep the device away from direct sunlight when parked for long durations to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ThiEYE Carbox 6 Dash Cam, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Solution
Dash cam does not power on. Check the car charger connection and ensure the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is working. Try a different power source if available. Ensure the battery is charged if attempting to power on without external power.
Dash cam stops recording or freezes. Format the memory card. Ensure you are using a Class 10 or UHS-1 MicroSD card. Replace the memory card if the issue persists. Reset the device using the reset button.
Video footage is blurry or unclear. Clean the camera lens. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lens. Check if the windshield is clean.
Rear camera not displaying or recording. Check the connection of the rear camera cable to the main unit. Ensure the rear camera is properly installed and not damaged.
GPS not tracking or showing incorrect data. Ensure the GPS module is connected and placed with a clear view of the sky. Move the module away from any metal obstructions. Allow a few minutes for the GPS to acquire a signal.
Dash cam automatically turns off. Check power connection. Ensure the car charger is providing stable power. Check battery level if operating on internal battery.
Files are being overwritten too quickly. Adjust the loop recording duration in the settings. Ensure important files are manually locked or that the G-sensor sensitivity is set appropriately. Consider a larger capacity memory card.
