2. Setup

2.1 Winding the Watch

Your Merkur Decompression Watch is equipped with a manual mechanical movement (Merkur Self-Developed M01D) and requires manual winding to operate. It does not have an automatic winding mechanism.

1. Ensure the crown is in its fully pushed-in position (position 0).
2. Gently rotate the crown clockwise. You will feel a slight resistance as the mainspring winds.
3. Continue winding until you feel a firm resistance, indicating the mainspring is fully wound. Do not force the crown past this point to avoid damage.
4. It is recommended to wind the watch daily at approximately the same time to ensure consistent operation and accuracy.

2.2 Setting the Time

1. Pull the crown gently outwards to the time-setting position (position 1).
2. Rotate the crown in either direction to adjust the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
3. Once the time is set, push the crown firmly back into its original, fully pushed-in position (position 0). This also ensures water resistance.

3. Operating the Watch

3.1 Decompression Scale

The watch features a distinctive, colorful decompression scale on its dial. This design element is inspired by vintage dive watches and serves as a visual reference for theoretical decompression limits. 3.2 Water Resistance

Your Merkur Decompression Watch has a water resistance rating of 50 meters (5ATM). This rating indicates that the watch is suitable for:

• Daily use
• Splashes and rain
• Showering (brief exposure to water)

Important: This watch is NOT suitable for swimming, diving, snorkeling, or any prolonged water immersion. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water to maintain its water resistance. Exposure to hot water or steam (e.g., hot showers, saunas) should be avoided as it can compromise the seals.
