3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Compatibility Check
This Fitcamx Dash Cam is designed for Cupra Formentor models manufactured between 2021 and 2026. To ensure correct fitment, please verify your vehicle's model and year. If unsure, it is recommended to take a photo of your vehicle's rearview mirror area and consult with the seller for confirmation.

3.2. Front Camera Installation
The Fitcamx Dash Cam is designed for a plug-and-play installation, replacing the original rearview mirror cover without damaging your vehicle's interior. The power is typically drawn from the rain sensor. If alternative power sources like the fuse box or OBD are required, please contact the seller for the appropriate cable.
- Use the provided pry tool to carefully pry off the front cover of your original rearview mirror.
- Remove the front cover completely.
- Remove the back cover.
- Locate the two connectors (A and B). Pull out connector A.
- Connect the dash cam's power cable to the rain sensor connector.
- Connect the other end of the dash cam's power cable to the dash cam unit.
- Mount the back cover.
- Mount the front dash cam unit.
- Ensure all covers are securely re-attached. Installation is now complete.

3.3. Rear Camera Installation (for Dual Cam versions)
For dual camera versions, a 1080P 360° rotation rear camera is included. This camera can be mounted on the rear windshield or positioned to face the cabin, depending on your preference for recording interior or rear exterior views.

Note: If you have previously installed a single front camera version, you cannot add a separate rear camera. If you buy the front and rear dual camera version, you can install the front camera and not the rear camera.
3.4. Installation Video Guide
For a visual walkthrough of the installation process, please refer to the official installation video. While the video may show a Volkswagen model, the general steps are applicable to the Cupra Formentor.
4. Operation
4.1. Automatic Operation
The dash cam is designed for automatic operation. It will automatically turn on when your car starts and turn off when your car is powered down. There is no need to manually connect to the camera's WiFi or open the app every time you drive.
4.2. Mobile App Connectivity and Features
The Fitcamx Dash Cam connects to your smartphone via WiFi, allowing you to manage recordings, adjust settings, and view live footage. The mobile app is compatible with both Apple iOS and Android devices.
- WiFi Connection: Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's WiFi network.
- Download Video: Easily download recorded video files directly to your phone.
- Edit Video: Trim or edit video clips within the app.
- Share Video: Share your recordings directly from the app.

4.3. Loop Recording & G-Sensor
The dash cam features seamless loop recording, which automatically overwrites the oldest footage with new content once the memory card is full. The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden collisions or impacts, automatically saving and locking the relevant footage to prevent it from being overwritten, thus preserving critical evidence.

4.4. Night Vision
Equipped with wide dynamic range technology, the dash cam provides superior night vision. It captures clear and vivid details even in low-light conditions, ensuring that important information like license plates and road signs are visible in recordings.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Memory Card Management
It is recommended to use Class 10 specification SanDisk, KIOXIA, or Samsung memory cards with a capacity of 32GB or 64GB. The dash cam supports a maximum memory card size of 256GB. Regularly format the memory card via the app settings to ensure optimal performance and prevent recording issues.
5.2. Cleaning
To maintain clear video quality, periodically clean the dash cam lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the lens or camera body.
6. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Problem 1: Apple iPhone connection failed.
- Turn off Cellular Data in phone settings before connecting to WiFi.
- If connected to Apple CarPlay, turn off Bluetooth, then connect to camera WiFi.
- Ensure album and network permissions are enabled for the app.
- Problem 2: Android phone connection failure.
- After connecting to camera WiFi, if prompted about no internet access, select "Keep WLAN Connection".
- Close Mobile Data first, then connect to WiFi.
- Problem 3: App cannot save settings (default settings restored after reboot).
- After adjusting settings in the app, press and hold the camera's power button to turn it off, then briefly press it again to turn it back on.
- Problem 4: App video file is empty, no video is loaded.
- Open App settings to format the memory card, then record video.
- If still no video, insert the memory card into a computer to check for damage or incompatibility. Replace if necessary.
- Recommended: Class 10 SanDisk/KIOXIA/Samsung memory cards (32GB or 64GB). Max supported: 256GB.
- Problem 5: Computer cannot play videos, or playback is not smooth.
- Recommended players: PotPlayer and KMPlayer.
- Low computer specifications may cause choppy playback, especially for 4K videos.
- Problem 6: Cannot connect 2 phones at the same time.
- The camera's WiFi supports only one phone connection at a time. Disconnect the first phone's WiFi before connecting another.
- Problem 7: Timestamp is wrong, no recorded video during some periods, or video only records when phone is connected.
- This may be due to a complete power failure (e.g., after car repair, maintenance, or battery replacement). Reconnect the camera's WiFi with your phone to synchronize the time.
- Regularly check that the camera is working properly.
- Problem 8: Forgot WiFi name or password.
- Press and hold the camera key for 20 seconds, or use a paperclip to press the reset button to restore factory settings.
- Problem 9: Do I need to connect the camera WiFi and open the App every time I drive?
- No, the camera automatically turns on and off with the car's ignition.
- Problem 10: Cannot find the WiFi.
- Remove the memory card and search for WiFi again; a faulty memory card can cause this.
- Press and hold the camera button for 20 seconds, or use a paper clip to press the reset button to restore factory settings.
- Check if the camera's indicator light is on. No light indicates no power, hence no WiFi.
