7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your water quality monitor.

  • Electrode Cleaning: Always clean the electrodes with distilled water after each use and dry them thoroughly. This prevents contamination and ensures accurate future readings.
  • Storage: Store the probes in their protective caps, ideally with a small amount of storage solution (or pH 4.0 buffer solution) to keep the pH electrode hydrated.
  • Regular Calibration: Calibrate the device regularly, especially the PH probe, to maintain accuracy. The frequency depends on usage and the type of water being tested.
  • Device Cleaning: Wipe the main unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the monitor and a working electrical outlet. Check if the outlet is functional.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Perform a calibration for the affected parameter (PH, EC, TDS, SALT).
    • Ensure probes are clean and free from debris.
    • Check if the probes are properly submerged in the water sample.
    • Verify that the temperature compensation is set correctly.
  • APP Connectivity Issues:
    • Ensure your smartphone is connected to a stable 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz networks are generally not supported by smart home devices).
    • Verify that the PH-W3988 monitor's WiFi indicator is flashing during pairing mode.
    • Restart the monitor and your router.
    • Ensure the Tuya Smart APP is updated to the latest version.
  • Display Not Working: If the display is blank or shows errors after checking power, contact customer support.
