1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

The ITH-12S comes with a pre-installed CR2032 button battery. Before first use, you need to remove the insulation pull tab to activate the battery.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the side of the device.
2. Gently pull out the insulation tab.
3. The device display should light up, indicating it is powered on.

4.2. App Installation & Bluetooth Pairing

To utilize the smart features of your ITH-12S, download the official INKBIRD app on your smartphone (available for iOS and Android).

1. Search for "INKBIRD" in your device's app store and install the application.
2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
3. Open the INKBIRD app and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new sensor.
4. Place the ITH-12S sensor near your phone when prompted for scanning.
5. Once detected, select the ITH-12S from the list to pair. The app will display current temperature and humidity readings upon successful connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Device Operation

• Power On/Off: The device powers on automatically after battery activation. There is no manual power button.
• °C/°F Selection: Use the dedicated button on the device to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
• Min/Max Readings: Press the 'MIN MAX' button to view the minimum and maximum temperature and humidity recorded since the last reset.

5.2. App Monitoring & Features

Once connected to the INKBIRD app, you can access advanced monitoring and control features:

• Real-time Monitoring: View current temperature and humidity readings directly on your phone.
• Alarm Settings: Set custom high and low temperature/humidity thresholds. The app will send alerts if readings fall outside your specified range.
• Historical Data: The sensor stores up to 1 year of historical data (with a 30-minute interval). You can view this data as graphs within the app.
• Data Export: Export historical data as a CSV file for further analysis. This feature allows you to select a specific date range for export.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

7.2. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the CR2032 button battery. Carefully open the battery compartment, remove the old battery, and insert a new one with the correct polarity.

7.3. Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on: Ensure the insulation pull tab has been completely removed. Check if the CR2032 battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge.
• Unable to connect via Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the sensor is within the 30m/98ft range. Try restarting both the sensor (by re-inserting the battery) and your phone's Bluetooth.
• Inaccurate readings: Ensure the sensor is placed in a stable environment, away from direct heat sources, vents, or extreme drafts. Allow some time for the sensor to stabilize after placement.
• App not displaying data: Verify that the sensor is successfully paired and connected in the app. Check your phone's internet connection if the app requires it for certain features (though real-time data is local Bluetooth).
