2. Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: Always test on a known live circuit before use to ensure the device is functioning correctly. If the stylus is not used in accordance with these instructions, the protection provided by the stylus may be impaired. Do not use if the stylus is damaged or does not operate correctly.
- De-energize the circuit before performing any work that requires direct contact.
- Do not exceed the specified measurement range (AC 12~1000V).
- Avoid dropping or impacting the device, as this may affect its accuracy and safety.
- Even if there is no display or sound, effective voltage may still be present if there is not a sufficient strength electrostatic field. If the stylus indicates the presence of voltage, confirm by other means. Factors such as shielded wires, insulation, distance from the voltage source, and type of voltage source can influence detection.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Unscrew the battery compartment cap located at the top end of the detector.
- Insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Screw the battery compartment cap back on securely.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Device Overview

- Battery Compartment: Houses the AAA batteries.
- Portable Hook: For attaching to pockets or belts.
- Flashlight and Pointing Light Switch: Activates the LED flashlight and infrared pointing light.
- High/Low Sensitivity Switch (H/L): Toggles between high and low sensitivity modes.
- Power Switch: Turns the device ON/OFF.
- Power Indicator: Shows device power status.
- Weak Signal Indicator: Yellow LED, indicates a weak voltage signal.
- Strong Signal Indicator: Red LED, indicates a strong voltage signal.
- NCV Induction Probe: The tip used for non-contact voltage detection.
- Infrared Pointing Light: Emits a red dot for pointing.
6.2 Power On/Off
Press the Power Switch (red button) to turn the device ON or OFF. The Power Indicator will light up when the device is on.
6.3 AC Voltage Detection
- Turn on the device.
- Bring the NCV Induction Probe close to the wire, outlet, or electrical component you wish to test.
- If AC voltage is detected, the device will emit a sound and the LED indicators will light up.
- A yellow light and slow buzzer indicate a weak signal (e.g., neutral wire or lower voltage).
- A red light and rapid buzzer indicate a strong signal (e.g., live wire or higher voltage).

6.4 Neutral & Live Wire Auto Detection
- With the device ON, bring the NCV Induction Probe near the wire.
- The backlight color will change to indicate the wire type:
- Yellow backlight and slow sound: Indicates a Neutral wire.
- Red backlight and rapid sound: Indicates a Live wire.

6.5 High/Low Sensitivity Adjustment
Press the H/L Switch (green button) to toggle between sensitivity modes:
- High Sensitivity (12~1000V): Suitable for general detection and identifying voltage from a greater distance.
- Low Sensitivity (48~1000V): Ideal for precise localization of voltage, reducing false positives from adjacent wires.

6.6 Breakpoint Tracking
- Turn on the device and set it to an appropriate sensitivity.
- Move the NCV Induction Probe along the insulated wire.
- The device will alarm continuously as long as voltage is detected.
- The alarm will stop or significantly weaken at the point where the wire is broken.

6.7 Flashlight and Infrared Indicator Light
Press the Flashlight and Pointing Light Switch (green button with light icon) to activate the LED flashlight for illuminating dark work areas or the infrared pointing light for precise targeting.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears or if the device fails to power on. Always use new 1.5V AAA batteries.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Unit fails to power on | Check whether batteries are properly installed. Replace with new batteries if necessary. |
| Inaccurate display/readings | Recalibrate the device (if applicable, refer to advanced manual) or replace batteries. Ensure the probe is clean. |
| Unable to measure voltage | Verify correct sensitivity range selection (High/Low). Ensure the circuit is live. |
9. User Tips
- Always test the detector on a known live circuit (e.g., a working outlet) before using it on an unknown circuit to confirm its functionality.
- For general voltage detection, use the High Sensitivity mode. When trying to pinpoint the exact location of a live wire or a breakpoint, switch to Low Sensitivity to avoid interference from nearby electrical fields.
- The built-in LED flashlight is very useful in dimly lit environments, making it easier to see the area you are testing.
- Remember that non-contact voltage detectors are primarily for indication and should not replace a multimeter for precise voltage measurements or circuit verification.
