4.2. Cloud Management App Setup

The SSC-GPS208 supports cloud management via a dedicated mobile application. This allows for remote monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  1. Download the App: Search for the "STEAMEMO" or "SSC" app on your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register/Login: Create an account or log in to the app.
  3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add your SSC-GPS208 switch. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the device or manually entering its serial number.
  4. Monitor and Control: Once added, you can monitor port status, power consumption, and perform remote actions.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

Simply connect the power cable to power on the device. Disconnect the power cable to power off. There is no physical power button.

5.2. VLAN Mode (Port Isolation)

The switch supports VLAN mode, which enables port isolation. In this mode, PoE ports 1-8 are isolated from each other, meaning devices connected to these ports cannot directly communicate with each other. They can only communicate with devices connected to the uplink ports (LAN1/LAN2). This feature enhances network security and performance by preventing unnecessary traffic between client devices.

Refer to the cloud management app for specific settings related to VLAN mode activation and configuration, if available.

5.3. Remote PoE Control via App

The cloud management app allows for remote control of individual PoE ports. You can enable or disable PoE power to specific ports with a single tap, which is useful for restarting connected devices or managing power consumption.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the switch is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Although fanless, proper airflow is still beneficial.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the switch within recommended temperature and humidity ranges (refer to specifications). Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
  • Cable Management: Keep network and power cables neatly organized to prevent damage and ensure proper airflow.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or the cloud management app for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
