1. Product Overview

The Bluavido 4G Mini Dash Camera is a versatile car video recorder designed for comprehensive vehicle monitoring. It features dual camera recording, 4G network connectivity for remote monitoring, GPS logging, and various safety functions.

Product Options:

  • K17 Set: Includes front camera and a 6-meter rear camera cable for external rear view recording.
  • K17N Set: Includes front camera and a 1-meter inside camera cable for in-car recording, suitable for taxis or shared cars.

2. Setup Guide

2.1 Package Contents

Product accessories including the host dash cam, GPS antenna, rear view camera (optional), and power cable.

2.2 Inserting TF Card and SIM Card

The dash camera includes slots for a TF (microSD) card and a SIM card. Ensure the device is powered off before inserting or removing cards.

  1. Insert TF Card: Gently push the TF card into the slot until it clicks into place. The device will provide a voice confirmation: "TF Card OK".
  2. Insert SIM Card: Insert the SIM card deeply into its designated slot.

2.3 Front Camera Angle Adjustment

The front camera offers a 15-degree adjustable angle to optimize your recording view.

2.4 App Connection (CloudDVR)

To utilize remote monitoring features, connect the dash camera to the CloudDVR app on your smartphone:

  1. Download and install the CloudDVR app (available for iOS & Android).
  2. Turn on your phone's WiFi and connect to the dash camera's WiFi hotspot (name typically starts with "FX_xxxxxx"). The default password is 12345678.
  3. Open the CloudDVR app. If prompted to bind the device, click "OK" and then press the power button on the dash camera within 5 seconds to confirm binding.
  4. Once connected via WiFi, you can view live feeds and access settings.
  5. To enable 4G remote monitoring, turn off your phone's WiFi. The app will automatically switch to using the 4G network for connection.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Dual Camera Recording

The device records simultaneously from two cameras. The front camera records in 1920x1080P at 25fps with a 140-degree view angle, while the rear/inside camera records in 640x480P at 25fps with a 120-degree view angle.

3.2 Remote Monitoring & GPS Tracking

With a 4G SIM card inserted and connected to the CloudDVR app, you can remotely monitor your car, view live streams, and track its location from anywhere. The app provides real-time location and driving trajectory playback.

3.3 24-Hour Parking Monitor

The device supports 24-hour parking monitoring. When an impact or collision is detected while parked, the G-sensor triggers automatic recording for a few seconds. This feature requires the included ODB buck line for continuous power.

3.4 Loop Recording

Loop recording ensures continuous recording by automatically overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full. This prevents the camera from stopping recording due to insufficient storage.

3.5 G-Sensor

The built-in 3-axis G-Sensor detects sudden acceleration, braking, and collisions. Upon detection, it automatically captures and protects critical footage, ensuring important files are not overwritten by loop recording.

3.6 HD Night Vision

The dash camera features HD night vision, ensuring clear recordings even in low-light conditions.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Formatting SD Card

Regularly format your TF card through the CloudDVR app settings to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Note that some settings may require restarting the DVR after changes.

4.2 General Care

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside its operating range (-20 to 75 degrees Celsius).
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent interruptions in power or data transmission.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues

  • Device not binding to app: Ensure your phone is connected to the dash cam's WiFi hotspot (FX_xxxxxx, password 12345678) and press the power button on the dash cam within 5 seconds when prompted by the app.
  • No 4G remote monitoring: Verify that a compatible 4G SIM card is correctly inserted and activated. Ensure your phone's WiFi is turned off to allow the app to connect via 4G.
  • 4G Network Compatibility: This product is not compatible with 4G networks in North America, Chile, and Peru. If you are in these regions, the SIM card functionality will not work, but other features can still be used.
  • Recording issues: Check if the TF card is properly inserted and formatted. Ensure there is sufficient storage space.
